Getting them to take action but not give up

Hi Folks,

I am looking for the magic number so to speak, if anybody has done the testing.

When you tell people "Free report on how to make a gazillion dollars only for the first 20 people".

Do you ever wonder people thinking "Ah it was only for the first 20 people, I am probably too late anyway so I am not going to bother."

So I was wondering what's a good number to apply in these situations. I have been experimenting with 50 because 100 seemed too high and 20 seemed too low.
What do you guys think?

My suggestion is to perform some split-testing and make your decision from the statistics you gather.

      • I agree, do some testing and see what works for you. I don't think there is a magical number that works for eveyone all the time.

Maybe there is way of adding scarcity to the situation without having specific numbers?

I think it's worth testing at least

There's just so many variables here, and one of the biggest is how good you are at "hyping" people to want it in the first place. If people really feel they need it, they'll work harder to get it. And scarcity can definitely lead people to run a bit faster towards that door. Have you thought about having a nice bonus for the first X people instead of limiting the copies so severely?
