n00bish question - Reusing articles

4 replies
This might seem a bit n00bish. But I was wondering if I am building a link campaign, is it ok to use the same article/content on multiple external blogs with keyword/url/social links back to a few different pages on my money site.

IE//
wordpress site 1 - Article 1 ------LINK---> 123.com/xxxxx
wordpress site 2 - Article 1 ------LINK-----> 123.com/yyyyy
blogspot site - Article 1 --------LINK------> 123.com/zzzzz
and so on........

Of course I would build backlinks to the articles to help with link juice. Would any of the link juice be passed on, or would google just ignore due to duplicate content. Also none of these articles will be on the money site, the money site is all hand written unique quality content. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Demented,

    Some of your questions are answered in this recent thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...your-blog.html (be careful, though - there are some inaccurate posts in there, too, but they're corrected).

    Yes, it's "ok" from Google's perspective, as long as they're real blogs in your niche, not blogs created just for backlinking purposes.

    But it's a good form of off-page SEO only if the "external blogs" on which you post copies of the articles are sites relevant to your own. Otherwise they'll be worth barely any more than article directory backlinks, i.e. worthless. (As the saying goes, "100,000 of those backlinks and $3.50 will buy you a cappuccino at Starbuck's"!).

    Article marketing mostly isn't about building backlinks: it's about getting your article in front of targeted traffic.

    If you're planning to "build a private blog network" for SEO purposes - don't. Google has been de-indexing those since the recent Penguin update. It's only an attempt to "game" their algorithms and inflate your rankings with phony backlinks, and this just doesn't work. Which is why so many blog networks like "BuildMyRank" have had their sites de-indexed recently.

    You surely wouldn't want to build backlinks to copies of your articles on other people's websites? :confused:

    It's nothing to do with "duplicate content" at all.

    What you're describing isn't even duplicate content. Explained here: Article Marketers – Lay the Duplicate Content Myth To Rest Once and For All - Internet Marketing and Publishing Blog

    I know that you're asking about blogs and not article directories, here, but I think nevertheless that the principles of "article distribution" explained in posts #2 and #6 if this thread will help you quite a bit: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

    Hi,

    Do NOT put the same content on different blogs.People who tell you
    to do this are wrong.

    Google and people want UNIQUE content.

    If you want to leverage your content you can 'hand spin' your content so
    it is 100% unique.

    Although with Panda and Penguin you shouldn't point spun links directly
    to your money page.

    Unique, Unique, Unique 100x

    Don't reuse the same article. You won't get any points from google for copy and pasting.

    Here's an excellent way of using the same content of one article to create others.

    1. What you do is take the main points in the first article.
    2. You then create a faq article using this points as the answers to questions.
    3. Next you create a mistakes article using the opposite of the points and then explaining the right way.
    4. Next create a tips article. Again the main points are used as a list of tips.
    5. Next you can create a story type article. You tell a story of someone following the advice from the first article.
    There you have it. One article is now five unique articles.

    You like? Go try it.
