Email - How do you manage multiple sites and emails

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had some useful tips to share regarding how to manage emails if you have multiple sites.

We get orders, customer queries, enquiries, and obviously some spam for each domain that we have.

All of these emails currently go into their own pop boxes for each site.

I am wondering if anyone had a bright idea on how best to manage all of these.

Connecting to and downloading from each pop box can take a lot of time.

Do you forward them to a central email account some how?

How do you reply to emails? I mean, do you use a reply address relevant to each domain name?

If you only have a handful of sites then this isn't a big issue, but once you get a dozen or even a HUNDRED sites (not just blogs), it starts to become an administrative headache.

Got any suggestions?

Thanks.

Gmail. You can forward multiple addresses to one account, and reply to them all from the same account.

I'd be totally lost without gmail. It's cloud computing, which is by its nature imperfect, but it's the best solution I've found to managing a ton of email from one interface.

I know the problem that you have. I had it last time.

Use The Bat email client. That will solve the problem

Another vote for Gmail. It's easy and it's free. You can also run webmaster tools, analytics, docs, notebooks, tasks lists, calendars etc., all through the same account.

It's not just email, it's a whole admin system.

    Saves me hours.

I will have to look into these ideas - thanks.

Is this a viable way to manage over 100 websites?

Is there a danger of this letting google easily see that you run all these websites?

I use a main web site to which ALL email forward to. I don't use outlook or gmail. I don't like using them ...

How do you reply to emails? I mean, do you use a reply address relevant to each domain name?
Sometimes based on the email. Like order emails, I will use specific domain. Otherwise use the main domain email itself.

I forward all my accounts to MS Outlook w/contact manager. With contact manager and it's built in calendar and alarm reminders it is a great resourse and management tool.

I try to use just one generic gmail account in the contact info across all sites. I also try not to use that email address for anything else.

Hi - In the past I've used Outlook (but I think I was limited to 5 / 6 different accounts) I use Gmail now for my web businesses; as said above, it's dead convenient. I don't know about 100 sites, but I would think it's scaleable. Good luck....
