Which method is better? Landing pages or full website

So I know this is talked about a bunch but I'm still unclear what questions I should be asking myself to come to a conclusion.

Here is my question:

I'm optimizing a client for 4 keywords.

I need to figure out if creating 4 landing pages (where the keyword is domain) is better than one website.

So for example: Keywords are "landscaping ohio" "ohio landscaping company" "irrigation outdoors ohio" "lawn care ohio"

Would it be better to optimize ABCLandscapingcompany.com for those 4 keyphrases or purchase new domain names with each keyphrase and create landing pages?

What should I consider with these options?

Thanks for your feedback

I'd stick with 1 website, and spend all of your time on it. Spreading your time too thin between 4 websites won't work out too well. Plus, "exact match domains" are becoming less and less important to Google. It's all about content, SEO, and authority.

Yes, I agree with Ross, stick with the one site, but another thing you could look at is creating separate landing pages for each keyword phrase.

For example, as "landscaping ohio" "ohio landscaping company" are quite similar you could have one landing page targeting those 2 keyword phrases, then another one about the irrigation side of things etc.

Search engine optimization, getting involved in your niche online communities and guest blog commenting are the best free ways in my opinion to drive traffic to your website.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It makes since that authority and content are the way to go and it wouldn't make sense to spend all of our time on various domain landing pages.

I'm going to go the route of creating landing pages within the current website to get the best of both worlds.

Create 1 website with those 4 keywords. I would suggest the site be a landing page (capture) to generate potential clients. Then create a bunch of blogs and write articles about this company with good solid content linking back to your main domain (DO NOT WRITE TO ROBOTS). Write these articles once a week and go create backlinks pointing to this domain with the 4 keywords you have selected. I would highly advise that you engage on forum conversations about landscaping as well and add that webpage to your signature line.
