What are your thoughts on this scenario and Amazon astores?

Do any people here use Amazon astores on their site? I am thinking of embedding an Amazon astore in one of my sites but from what I have read many people say they are very poor at converting traffic to sales.

Lets say I have a site which has articles about fishing and I want to monetize this site by promoting fishing accessories. There is such a wide variety of different fishing accessories such as rods, reels, lines, nets etc. I don't really want to write a review about every single fishing product that is available.

Embedding an Amazon astore into my site seems like it would be a great opportunity to just allow my visitor to browse the many different fishing products available and read the reviews that other people have written.

I'm thinking even if the visitor didn't really have any intentions of buying something when they first came to my site, after reading a few articles and getting them excited about fishing it would be a good time to entice them to buy some new gear by showing them all of the latest fishing gear available.

What are your thoughts on this scenario and do you think Amazon astores are a good thing or a waste of time?
