Selling $5 ebook on "How to" article page? Will it work?

Will it work it I write a "How To Article" and then at the end of the article I tell to buy a 3 to 5 page ebook for 5$...I will cover a much more detailed information of that how to article which I wrote...

PS: The site is general niche and low competition. I was brainstorming on how to monetize this site through ebook as some how to articles solve some problems

I think you didn't get what I meant to say..Ok let me elaborate

Suppose I have a site like "How to cure Knee Pain" and I write an article on my site. I write pretty much informative article and at the end I tell them to buy THIS ebook for maybe $5 and get the complete guide on how to cure that problem...

How is this Idea? Its similar to selling someone elses product but they cost a but like more than $20 but mine will be to the point and I will give them comprehensive info within that PDF file...

Are there any chances for it to work? I can think or pricing it for $2 to $5 depending on the topic.

      Hey Just4Kix,

      I got you...

Better to write the article and then send them to an offer on a squeeze page to capture their information.

Once obtained, you can use an auto-responder like Aweber to write to them offering your $5 ebook...and...

...offer them things in the future too!

Build a list as soon as you can...that's your future!

Wrong. You can price it however you like. Look at Tiffany Dow's site..she's selling PLR for up to $100 a pop successfully. You just have to know your niche.

My suggestion, and this is a carefully-worded suggestion as I don't want you to think I'm coming down on you, but make sure to proofread your work, or even have someone else proofread it for you. Judging by the posts you've made in this thread, your grammar could use a little polishing. And, before you say this is only a forum...I make a lot of money out of this forum from people seeing my posts. You can, too, as long as you really showcase your writing style.

Outside of that...I think you have a good idea if you're able to implement it successfully. Don't expect the first draft of your sales page to be a hit...you may have to go through and reword it or even scrap it and try it again!

The emphasis is on the word have to. That's the only way to find out if it will work. I did not say it has to be sold for $5. It was OP who suggested the price tag, not me!

True enough. I'm on a pretty good pain med (hurt my wrist over the weekend) and I've cut back on my posting because my brain's not processing like it should. I didn't even see the words "try to" the first time around.

Is that your own original ebook, someone else's or PLR ebook? If it's your own you could try to put it on amazon and link to it from your article. If you can generate some sales from your article it can as well take off on amazon and make some extra sales... or a lot of sales.

If it's PLR you have to try to sell it for $2 - $5 as you suggested. You never know until you try. Opinions are the cheapest commodity on earth. So, just do it.

^^ This, right here is what you ought to do ASAP. Don't be tempted to complicate it too much in the beginning. Once you see the results, you'll know whether to proceed with additional stuff or not.

Yeah I will be creating that ebook myself. It can be some 5 to 6 pages since its micro niche focused topic. I will research on that topic like "How to cure *" and then make a PDF of that.

Yeah you are right maybe it could work on Amazon kindle store?

What service do you use to research the 'how-to' topics? Want to try my website (in sig) for free in exchange for a review or testimonial?

I wouldn't try to get someone to buy without getting them on an email list first...that way, you have several chances to make the same on your $5 product, or offer it as an OTO.

Also make sure you are in a niche that has commercial viability...someone needs to be in pain or in need (physically, emotionally, psychologically, etc.). This will make it much easier to sell your product.

Nobody is going to buy a guide on "how to tie a tie" for instance, because there is so much free information online, and no one really has a need to pay for the information.

A single How To article on the website won't convince a reader to buy something, even if it's only $5.
My opinion would be to add more articles to the website. Also add a few more pages to the ebook and make it 17-20pages report.
Also you would need some testimonials to get more sales.

Yeah getting the visiters into the mailing list can be an option instead of directly selling them of. But the thing is my site is having different categories. And its a general how to site like Wikihow. I am getting good enough traffic to the pages...I might have to setup different Aweber IDs i guess as the traffic on different pages are different and ofcourse they are targeted

Another question which I am having is how to structure the how to" articles. Should I give them ALL THE INFO because I am not sure whether they will buy it afterwards since I have already given them the 80% info in my article for free. How should I go about this?
