I can't figure out what this site is all about...

FindLikes

+ I also don't see how it is monetized.

Weird layout on the site. Definitely not for a 800x600 screen. I have no clue either cause i dont see any money making avenues on the site. Maybe they're trying to get alot of visitors for free on a daily basis... then offer paid options as they become more popular.

After doing some whois checking http://whois.domaintools.com/findlikes.comand web snooping, I've found that this person Dexster Smith | LinkedIn is the co-founder of the Facebook app called find likes. The site is a way to get people to connect via facebook to promote the app. (read: harvest email addresses)

When I clicked the connect with Facebook link (after which I promptly canceled without giving out my info), the the app info reads:
    67 people use this app

    ABOUT THIS APP
Watch videos. Make friends. Join the club!

Who can see posts this app makes for you on your Facebook timeline:Custom
    THIS APP WILL RECEIVE:
    • Your basic info
    • Your email address (**@gmail.com)
    • Your likes
    • Friends' likes
    • Report App
Probably, the person is sending emails and otherwise communicating via Facebook in the hopes someone will buy something form him. I'll admit though, its an interesting app I've never seen before.

    Or the silicon valley route.

    Offer everything for free.

    Get lots of users.

Pray you will be bought out.

That's what the whole dot com bubble was about... the mistaken belief that **"eyeballs" (automatically) = profits.**

      Not so.

Capitalism is not built on actions, it's built on transactions! The former does not always create the latter.

You're right. Businesses with services that are completely free of charge, but have millions of users, being bought out is non-existent these days.
