Landing page beta, Next Step?

Greetings,

I made a landing page with a description of the product on the page and then a "Buy Now" at the bottom of the page.

So far of the 50 people that visited my site 2 clicked on the "Buy Now" button.

I have not created the product yet, which will be an ebook.

I am getting traffic from youtube.

Should I go ahead and create the ebook, or create an email list before, etc....?

Any suggestions on next step would be appreciated.

After someone clicks on the buy now button, send them to a feedback form that says something like this:

    ---
I'm in the final stages up publishing this fantastic one-of-a-kind eBook, but I want to make sure that I've included everything that's important to you in it. Please let me know what question (or questions) you have about this topic, and I'll make sure to include it in the eBook. Best of all, I'm going to give you a FREE copy of the eBook just for helping me out. Enter your questions or comments below and please provide me with your e-mail address so I can contact you when the eBook is done.
    ---

Then see how many people (if any) actually send you feedback. Not only will you potentially get some good questions and comments, but you'll also save yourself from creating an eBook that nobody might want.

Really cool stuff though, it's awesome that some visitors are clicking on the buy now button already.

Technically I haven't created the product, rather i have a product idea.

I created a youtube slide show video to gain interest and then a sales page with a "buy now" button on the bottom.

      Just testing

Rather than a Buy Now button (which some could view as deceptive), why not drive them to a squeeze page? Offer them something free that gets their anticipation up for the eventual product in exchange for their contact information.

That way, you're building a list of qualified prospects you can mail to once the product is complete.

Gotta say, I have to agree with John on this. Get a squeeze page setup first, imagine from the 50 visitors - even with a 10% optin rate, you could have already had 5 subscribers. Then you can email them telling them the ebook is just having its final stages added to it and then you can soft pitch it later - and again and again if you like......
