Amazon sites meaning that you are doing Amazon affiliate products?

In any case, some useful plugins that I often use are:
    • Broken Link Detector
    • Wordpress SEO Plugin by Yoast
    • Sociable (unless you have a WPMU membership in which case I use the Floating Social plugin)
    • Google Analyticator
    • FD Feedburner (if you're doing a blog)
    • Some type of cache plugin like DB Cache or W3 Total cache (depending on your site/hosting)
    • Contact Form 7
    • Jetpack by Wordpress
    • Dynamic Widgets
    • AVH Extended Categories

    Want me to keep going?

I find most of them helpful on nearly all of my sites. If you are only doing a 5 page site then no. You could leave out Jetpack, Contact Form 7, AVH, FD, and Dynamic Widgets. How are you planning on getting links though with such a small site?

If you are wanting to build an Amazon affiliate site and would like to actually earn any income from it, then I suggest you take a look at Ryan Stevenson's Product Style Plugin.

Search for phpnetpro in the WSO forum.

An extremely powerful free theme for Wordpress can be found here:

Weaver II Theme | Home of the Weaver II WordPress Theme

I use the paid version which was about $40 for unlimited use on personal and client sites and I will probably never use another theme as this one is head and shoulders above any of the other themes I have tried, paid or free.

Other plugins that may range from helpful to necessary include:

      All in One Seo Pack
      Google XML Sitemap
      Easy Contact
      W3 total Cache
      and a backup plugin

If you are planning on building sites that only consist of 5 or so pages, you will need to come up with a way to drive traffic to your site.
