^ It doesn't cloak your links, but you can easily install a free plugin that does the job.

Many product creators swear by OptimizePress, but if you're new with product creation I'd say to get a simple squeeze page or sales page theme (there are some available for free out there) until you can afford the $97 price tag.

It is quite good to make Squeeze page and sales page. But not for blog. And their support is kind of slow (like never will answer)

    I like:

It's a great way to set up your whole sales funnel.

Squeeze Page, Bridge Page, Sales page, and Membership Site.

    I dislike:

You can also create a blog on it but I don't really like how it works.

    ---

    What I do:

I install two Wordpress installations on my domain.

One for my blog which I use another theme called Headway. (Installed on moneytreesmedia.com)

One for my sales funnel which I use optimize. (Installed on moneytreesmedia.com/videocashsecrets

    Hope this helps!

I've used OP for sometime and I find it great. For someone who isn't very techie and wants a simple and professional theme for squeeze pages/sales letters/blogs etc. you won't go far wrong with it...

Very easy to set-up and the tutorial videos are very helpful, especially in the beginning when your configuring everything.

OptimizePress is NOT simple and easy. There's so many working parts to it, that it's taken me 'forever' to make all the parts come together.

I agree that its for long term use, not for a one-off application. And if they don't update (more often) and keep up with WP upgrades, all that work is down the drain.

I don't recommend OP to anyone who's not a techie. It requires farming out the build-out, otherwise, you'll be spending weeks tinkering with this thing.

I use optimize press and love it. I like the simplicity of selecting from several squeeze page layouts and the integration with my autoresponder.

My vote is for getting a professionally designed theme from Envato or other source... CSS3 & HTML5 responsive with landing page option... then get OptinLite and other pluggins for specialized needs.

With OptimizePress, AuthorityPro, etc., you can't update the look & feel... and if they can't keep up with WP upgrades, you're stuck.

You don't need to be a techie to work with OP, it has many instant pages ready with one click of the button. I like OP alot, it is a great theme for Imer's

"One click of the button" ??? Really? I don't have 'that' version evidently.

After all is said and done, you can click "Publish" maybe, but that's certainly not the beginning point. There's at least 25 things that need 'setting' and 'formatting' before you ever get to "Publish"

And getting one's mind around those 25 things is the hurdle.

But if all you want is an 'instant page,' and no funnels, no launches, no sales pages, not optins, no delayed content, pop-ups, video sizing, placement, etc. etc, then maybe I could agree. But even one instant page requires a boatload of set up details.

In fact, there are SO many details you can miss when putting this together, that it's obvious to me why so many videos are necessary to unpack this software in the first place.

I'm not arguing that this software does not do a fantastic job at what it promises to do, but there's no promise of simplicity, and it's ridiculous to make that statement.

It would depend on what you're doing.

Ultimately, it does what it was designed to do... help you quickly and effectively set up landing pages (squeeze pages).

I personally love OP..it is very simple and quick to create squeeze pages, sales letters etc. Yeah it does have a $97 price tag, but you can easily make that money back with the conversion abilities this platform offers. :-)

    Optimizepress is pretty badass.

The best thing about it, without a doubt, is its ability to insert easy graphics.

The worst thing, is how the blog looks if you make your mainpage "latest posts".

I love OP, but if I was a new, I would go for something like Instabuilder. OP is powerful and I think it can be a little intimidation to newbs; although, they do have fantastic documentation (written and video).

OP is awesome, I use it all the time. But it sounds like you are new to both IM and Wordpress. If that is the case, I would NOT recommend you get OP yet. Start with basic WP theme, learn the basics for some months and then check it out later.

I have used OP and found it very easy to make sales pages, squeeze pages and funnels. The only negative that I can really bring up has been brought up before...I don't like the blog at all. I would use this only for sales/squeeze pages. The blog just ends up looking weird.

    I use optimizepress.

It creates very good, very compelling squeeze pages in seconds.

However, in terms of blog theme or sales pages, it's not worth it.

For blog themes you can go to woothemes and find some kick butt themes.

For sales pages? outsource it to copywiritng experts.

Optimizepress sales pages are very weak, better pay $5000 lol (seriously)

But squeeze pages? wow! I swear by optimizepress.

Optimize Press is great for building professional sales or squeeze pages, however it's limited in the blog type of pages it creates, Instabuilding appears to solve that problem though my letting you keep your favorite theme instead of taking over the whole WP installation.

I do like the idea mentioned above about two separate WP installs under a domain: one for the OP and the other for the preferred theme for blogging.

I bought Optimize Press as soon as I got into IM because I thought that you had to have it in order to create squeeze pages, sales pages, etc.

When I was just getting started using OP was a little difficult because I was not even used to the Wordpress backend yet, so dealing with all the extra functionality was a little overwhelming. Slowly I got used to it though and have used OP to build a list and that's about it...

Depending on what exactly you're looking for, I would recommend to start out with some free HTML templates and see if they get the job done. If not, then maybe you should think about investing in OP. The biggest consequence of OP though is that it's a theme so you cannot just install it like a plugin, you have to change your theme completely, which can sometimes be a hassle.

    Anyways, hope this helps!

I have tested OP and whilst it does make great pages, you may find that you are limited by its hidden code on the pages.

This is why I have switched to using html templates like Mike Cowle's shortcut codes, this produces pages very similar to OP but with total freedom on what you can do on the page.

As with everything, you need to workout whether this is a good long term investment for you or not, having spent several thousand dollars on 'killer' software that I no longer use I can say I learned this the hard way!

OP is awesome. Not only does it create squeeze pages and sales pages, but also complete launch funnel. I think for the price you can t beat it. I never understood why they don t charge every year for the license. I don t complain though!

What is it that you want to do / accomplish?

No offense, but your question is like asking, "What is the advantage and disadvantage of eating a vegetarian diet?"

There are many advantages and disadvantages. And, what might be an advantage to one person is a disadvantage to another. Until we know what you are trying to do, you will continue to get answers that are all over the place.

Anything related to WordPress stinks! Especially using WordPress itself, for sales material. Stick to HTML/CSS for that.

WP was designed for BLOGGING! For content sites with many pages.

What you can easily do with pure HTML in 10 sec, will cost you 30 min on average with WordPress - editing PHP/templates/etc. At least when it comes to changing the fine details, like adding specialized scripts.

Shame everyone got used to this WP thing... simply because every sheep is following the heard.

I checked into optimize press and it seem simple enough. However, I decided to use a system that was already setup with squeeze pages (capture pages) and sales pages. The end results were great and the cost was less.
