Thoughts on buying traffic?...

There's someone over on the digitalpoint forum offering this...

Get 15,000 Quality Unique Visitors (that convert) for just $29!

I can't actually post the link as I currently have less than 15 posts, but if you check out the forum and search for that thread title you'll find it.

Anybody ever experimented with buying traffic before? At first I assumed it was a waste of time, but it seems to have generated interest over on the forum. Thoughts?

Sounds very skeptical to me. If it did actually convert his prices would raise a lot.

Yeah I seen that aswel, their is quite a few like that I saw, also $6.99 for 10,000 leads, never tried it, it would be good if someone who has tried would comment. may possibly improve your page rank if that many visitors go to your website.

I would steer far, far away.

I tried something like this many years ago. The "quality" traffic was delivered over a period of a few minutes, and did absolutely nothing.I'm not sure to this day if any actual humans saw that page.

All the sellers did was convert my money into their money...

Hello fellow warrior! I don't recommend purchasing traffic. It typically is a waste of money unless you buy from a reputable source. The best thing you can do for your website is SEO. Search engine optimization and submission which will help your website climb naturally in the ranks without fear of losing postion or even worse, being banned by the engines.
    Good luck!

      PLEASE!

Do not spend money on this kind of traffic. I've tried it when I first started years ago. Very frustrating because no results.

      Spend your money otherwise.

Ah thanks for the heads up guys. As cheesy as this sounds it's SO nice to know there's a community of IM'ers looking out for each other. I get the feeling if I'd posted this question on digitalpoint I'd have just been met with a million posts trying to sell me traffic rather than offer advice. This place rocks! Thank you!

How do you buy qualified traffic? I mean if everyone has, lets say for instance, a website about IM, then yeah, i can probably buy traffic. But lets say i have a niche site on coffee mugs. Where exactly are you going to be able to go and buy qualified coffee mug traffic?

Not that there aren't companies out there that probably actually do have some kind of way to pinpoint the best coffee mug traffic on the web, but i highly doubt they are hanging out on DP selling that info for $29

Test it with a small amount. If your experience is like mine the only thing it will do is give your servers a good workout. You'll get the traffic, but it will be junk traffic. It may even be a bot designed to hit your site, thus keeping them out of trouble because traffic was delivered, but worthless to you.

Still. Someone out there must have real traffic that you can buy. I just have not seen it. Test test test.

Don't buy it. It is a scam. Delete that ad and run away from it.

Many years ago, I tried such traffic. My web host logs showed I did indeed receive the traffic... But it was so rapid and so brief it was useless. There is no assurance that the traffic actually even represented live people, nor that they ever actually saw the page. Only that the hits came in.

It costs more to buy real traffic (via PPC advertising for example) but at least with that you know real people are arriving and they are targeted to what you have to offer (assuming your ad was done well)

    those are junk traffics.
that kind of traffic doesn't convert into sales.
other than for getting alexa ranking, I think it's worthless.

I tired before and I got no results. I also did not get my "10,000" traffic as promised. Got about 2000 only. Do check on their reputation before buying. But like what the warriors are saying, its useless...
