Selling ebooks on Fiverr

I know that some smart people are successfully selling problem-solving information on Fiverr.

My question is a technical one. Can you set it up so that when someone orders, they automatically receive the PDF you are promising them for $5? And if so, how do you do that?

I am not a Fiverr vendor yet and don't want to wade in unless I can set this up to fulfill requests automatically.

Thanks,
Marcia Yudkin

well there ya have it, they wont do it but what you could do is create a thank you page with the download link and another offer of higher value that they might be interested in

Nope...I don't think they support autodelivery at this point.
BUT, as SeanSupplee stated, i have seen a couple of sellers promote higher priced products to their buyers in the back end. Some even put in a link to their opt in page.

I think Sean was on to something. Doesn't Fiverr allow you to request the buyer to reply with information? I suppose you would be able to request that they download the ebook at a "secure URL"

... unless fiverr doesnt allow links. Then you might be able to do the whole URL-simple encryption to bypass the filters ie"hxxp://www getbooknow com/fiverr"

Then I guess all you would have to do is log in once a day and mark all orders as completed.

Its kind of a rough outline and might work... what do you guys think? What did I miss?

Fiverr scans your personal IM's...I wouldn't be surprised if they scanned the documents sent to clients as well.

I have heard this too, they probably do this randomly just to keep things up to standard.

Fiverr quickly became a nice ground for spammers, but realistically they are doing what they can within their own powers to make fiverr a good place.

If this was allowed, the whole fiverr idea of making people do something for you in exchange for five bucks would be flawed.

Automation kills real interaction and even though there are people selling stuff there (you pay and then the seller sends you a download link) allowing sellers to fully automate everything, would just simply kill the site.

Are you serious? Haha I guess some people really are that scared and ignorant.

I have links in all my gig descriptions and have had for two years. Also in the buyer instructions. I've made a tidy sum off Fiverr visitors and captured a few names as well.

You can't be banned from Fiverr...you set up a new account with a different email and like "magic" you're back to business. You can even use the same Paypal addy.

          RogueOne,

So you included a link to your own web site in the buyer instructions? And that is fine with Fiverr and with the buyers, correct?

If so, then that answers my question completely.

          Thanks so much.

          • I went right to the source (Fiverr Support) and asked if it was acceptable to put a link in a gig description. I already know it's verboten to put one in the buyer instructions so didn't bother to ask about that.

Marcia, RogueOne is not the first person I have heard say this.

I have been thinking as you are to sell a few books inside of fiverr, but I have not yet set up an offer.

I did a quick search on Fiverr and it looks like quite a few people are actually selling ebooks from Fiverr:
          http://fiverr.com/gigs/search?utf8=%...=0&y=0&action=

The very first result (teaching php) is a 50-page PDF.

The only question remains is if we can give a download link immediately upon purchase. We can either buy a couple of ebooks to see if others are doing it, or we can test it ourselves.

This is my same hiccup with the system as well. But
I simply monitor the email address and send the download
information. I can do this from my iphone so it's a
cut and paste. I really don't see how automatic delivery
    would damage Fiverr.

I guess you can always send them to your Youtube videos, and attempt to redirect them back to your website. If this sounds like a hassle, there' always your own website and Kindle (but kindle doesn't give you the customer name).

Fiverr isn't likely to ever allow an automated system.

As mentioned it would be abused and would turn fiverr into a horrible scrapbook of low value products.

The manual intervetion is a positive point of fiverr in the sense that you know you are working with a real person at the other end.

Selling ebooks on Fiverr is worth it only if you can write something that anyone will want to buy. Because of the $5 price tag, you have to sell a lot of ebooks to make up for the time wasted on writing.

I am sure someone can automate this process
I can easily create a bot that can do this!

    Its simple!
Have it run all day and visit your sales page every 10 minutes for example
If the bots found "description of your gig" (means that you have a sale)
then it opens the order and pastes what you want inside

I doubt they scan everything to be honest. They may have automated systems that pickup on things but every comment isn't human reviewed.

If you have ebooks that are already selling on Kindle, Nook and the iBookstore for $2.99 or $4.99, why not also sell them on Fiverr if it's allowed? In that situation it is not a waste of time at all.

Wouldn't you be missing out on reviews you could have gotten?

The other aspect that concerns me (personally) about selling ebooks on Fiverr is the huge potential for being ripped off. We already know there are stolen WSOs for sale there. While it's true that someone could also clone your ebook on the platforms you mentioned, undoubtedly there's a much higher proportion of dishonest types prowling the corridors of Fiverr, looking for something they can make a quick $4 on.

I think there are some Fiverr alternatives that allow automatic downloads; I think it might have been either SEOClerks or Gigbucks.

    Hope this helps.

This is the reason I moved from Fiverr to SEOClerks

They have a dedicated section for eBooks and the buyer can download it automatically after the payment is made...

And with a proper advertising of your service I manage to make a nice profit on autopilot I can say due to the automatically download feature.

Not possible. The only thing you might be able to do is provide the link in the instructions to the buyer you set up when creating the gig. Other than that, no.

Seems to me that if Fiverr requires someone to manually process orders, and if you have a decent amount of said orders, it would be possible to hire a Filipino VA for an hour or so each day to do the processing for just a few bucks (probably the cost of one gig). Right? Or am I missing something?

Hi, you could upload the ebook download url on the additional action step required and have it password protected or have a time expiration download period. Then ask one question so it will complete. This may help, or maybe in the future Fiverr they will add this feature.

    Hi,

I'm aware that SEOClerks has such an option and we on Fourerr have an "Instant Access" option where you can drop your digital goods on our servers and then buyers can pick it up straight away without the intervention of the seller after ordering.

This option is fully automated, as long as you own the legal selling rights of the e-Book / digital goods etc.
