My Wife Is Making A Fortune, Here's How

Hi fellow Warriors

After spending years online marketing various products etc with great success we came up with a simple idea !!

After sitting down with a nice glass of red one evening chatting as we do about business etc, we decided that being an internet marketer did not have to completely revolve around simply online businesses, we decided to take are knowledge to the offline world.

So the next day my wife did a little test and hit the road !!

Well what can i say, the interest in offline businesses wanting to know all the ways to market their businesses online has been tremendous to say the least, Elaine now has a great sideline mentoring offline businesses on how to become successful online, businesses have seen sales and profits fly as they become more aware of what is available out there.

This is a great way to boost your income and make a small fortune by utilizing your online marketing skills to take onto the offline world because the market is just sat waiting.

All the best
Steven.

If you are recommending that people open their minds more to offline marketing I think that is an excellent recommendation.

Offline marketing is the ONLY reason I'm able to even post on this forum. If it wasn't the first thing I got involved in when coming to these forums, I'd still be working at a job I hate, full time making absolute garbage.

Now I work usually 3 days a week doing web design (to finish one site) charge $800-$1200 depending on the job, and its been one of the best things to happen to my life.

I can still work in sales selling basement waterproofing (figure another 10 hours a week) and the rest of my time I spend learning SEO/backlinking/marketing in general.

Offline is the FOUNDATION of my overall strategy now and ironically enough its given me the time I need to learn other things like online marketing.

There is SO MUCH you can do in the offline arena. Something else I do (once a month usually) is I walk into local contracting businesses and ask them if they would be interested in a round of "guerilla" marketing for their business. They ask what it is, I explain its setting up tables/presentations at street fairs to promote their business and get leads. I will usually run contests too like a "spin the wheel and win a free whatever" type game just to attract children who ALWAYS bring their parents over.

Thats one thing I noticed at these fairs if you can appeal to the children (or even the wives), they will always bring their whole family to the table which = great leads for your business.

I charge a set fee for a 1 day show/fair. Then I put ads up on CL (I already have contacts so I don't need to do this anymore) and 2 college kids come out (ideally 1 male/1 female) to do the actual promoting. I pay them $12/hr + commissions on jobs they sell.

All I do is oversee everything and make $800 for 6 hours spent at the fair. I don't do any promoting myself I just help get the content together. If they don't have banners I will either recommend an expensive company to do the banners, or create them myself for half price (I do a real nice job too I love photoshop).

Selling post card advertising with USPS's every door direct program is another thing you can do that worked for me like 6 months ago. But I find the table set ups to be MUCH easier to sell and much less a headache.

Anyways offline is where my heart is. Its so easy to think outside the box and come up with creative ideas the small business would love to pay for. All you need to do is TRY!

This is very true, i can tell you that some of the big names have started with massive success offline and then taken people online to form a steady ever growing following online, but a lot of the time the success was born offline. They then go on to charge people big bucks to tell them how to be successful online and people wonder why they cannot make a success !!

In my opinion the secret to online success is hidden offline, and i stand by that statement as we regularly hold offline seminars and workshops in various niches and drive people online, these people then spread the word online and your customer base grows.

Like feeding breed to ducks on a pond you can eventually drive them onto the shoreline and hey presto more ducks follow !!

It all depends on what you are looking for if your more of a people person and you want to deal with businesses etc... then definitely offline is the way to go. This is true there is very good money to be made offline if you know what your doing!

If you do not really want to deal with the corporate world with a little less headache online is where it is at.

But for most people with decent internet marketing skills I agree you can make a lot more money going offline.

    Tip: Do both!

Does your wife mentor her clients one on one, or does she conduct workshops or some other form of a group teaching?

She conducts workshops, seminars, and one on one to offline businesses, as all businesses are very different and are at very different stages she very often puts together a tailor made package to suit the needs of that client.

Having built several successful businesses, one to six figures in several months, and been in sales and marketing all her working life with a Bsc Honours and a MSc to her name and several years of successful internet marketing behind her she is doing great in our new found niche, our offline business client base is building all the time as she then takes them by the hand and leads them to new sources of traffic online.

You would be amazed at the amount of offline businesses that are still sat there waiting for customers to come and find them, well they cannot afford to take that approach anymore, especially in the current climate, so she shows them both offline and online techniques to take their businesses to the next level.

there are so many ways and ideas for offline business to come online...

I have a friend and im doing her website for her, ive treated her like a business, redesigned her site for her, and started marketing it for her, shes getting appiontments through her site and shes over the moon.

All i did was apply my skills online to offline, she doesnt really care about designs etc she just leaves me to it end of the day all she wants are clients so i give her results. She has since been alot more busier and alot more appiontments. I am now looking into a few ideas that you carry out online and seeing how i can bring that to offline for her business to market it more.....

got some ideas that im testing will get back to you with results eventually.

Offline marketing can be very very lucrative if you know what your doing

Yes, offline businesses would all interested to get their online exposures, they just don't have the know-how, that's where you come in, with little talking to the businesses in your neighborhood, you'll soon have a list of willing clients,

I think it's really sad these papers are going under, same with books and pay phones but I think the smartest thing they can do is migrate users over to their paywall or whatever online by advertising constantly in the paper about the transition and even offer them discounts. It's a much more intelligent way to go versus trying to suck out every drop of profit from the paper then just shutting down shop.

I agree with TPW. Marketing is the same everywhere. One little add-on. In all the countries I have been to overseas, I always see young and old with cell phones. I would guess that means with right company you might he able to do mobile marketing. Check with Twilio if you can access their services.

If so, that would be where I would start. I am sure there are not a lot of businesses with text messaging loyalty programs.

Of course it is. But the worst thing is that every country has its own mentality and not everywhere you can use the same methods, that's really irritating when you invest a lot of time to build something and someday people will be interested and encouraged to buy/take/get/visit but has no motivation to do so or on another example they are too frightened to buy...

    Congratulations, Steven and Elaine!

Looks like you and your wife have really found your niche and things are clicking for you! I just love to see a husband and wife team putting their heads together and making their business work harmoniously.

The brick-n-mortar businesses definitely need what you guys have to offer. If you do it well, there is no telling how much money and success you will have.

Are you all offering a free giveaway or anything? A nice book authored by you and your wife could be your calling card / business card and a great way to break the ice and build credibility at the same time.

Working that local circuit in your city in a way to gain name recognition would be a good strategy ... putting on workshops, seminars and attending local Chamber of Commerce meetings should definitely get things rolling. If done right, within no time at all you'll be getting most or all of your clients strictly through referrals ... no need to have to beat the pavement to gain new ones. I think the main focus should always be on keeping the clients you have because they are always more valuable than trying to secure new ones. Give them great service and build solid relationships with them and usually you will keep them for life.

Wishing you the best of success,

    Iris

Great idea and plan. One thing though marketing SEO services to offline business is becoming a really saturated market. If you'd like to get into the offline / online marketing game, think of facebook, instagram, pinterest. Most businesses don't even know about the last two.

Everyone should look into providing your community with offline marketing efforts. Your local chamber of commerce will let you speak on a subject to the chamber and then provide your services after. Maybe marketers dont realize just how much they know verses the general public.

I keep on putting the offline marketing thing on the back burner but I'm gonna have to put a plan together at some point.

If you can get some good recurring paymets coming in for hosting, SEO, PPC campaing management, maintaining social media accounts, email campaigns etc you should be able to build up a nice little business.

Looks to me that you found another way to make even more money. I think that the market out there is huge. You just need to find more and more clients.

In terms of advertising your online business offline, you can actually do that by placing a sticker on your car, call your newspaper to put a classified ad there, and so much more.

It's surprising how many businesses how absolutely no idea how to market themselves online. I think as we learn more and more ourselves about IM, we forget that what we learn is not common knowledge.

The fact that we have taught ourselves website design, content creation, coding, backlinking etc etc, these themselves are valuable skills that can be used to generate income in the offline world.

I personally think this market is huge and anyone with a business mind can create a nice little income stream for themselves.
