I get a million of these a month - here's why 99.9% of them end up in the trash

I get a million request a week for me to promote products to my email list.

99.9% of them go in the trash.

Do you want me to promote you or your product to my list?

Then TRY HARDER.

Lame copy and paste JV emails now go straight to the trash. Here's what to do instead.

1. Write me a personal email. A guy did this to me today. Wrote about something he could have only know if he was on my list and actually followed me on Facebook. It got my attention and his product is on my calendar now.

2. Shoot me a video. Not that hard these days. Follow the same steps as #1 but be sure to tell me what's in it for my customers. Money is great, but if it's a crappy product that people are going to hate - then no way am I interested.

3. Hit me up via mail. Guess how many emails I get a day about "promote my ****" - hundreds. Want to really stand out??? Send me something in the mail. Doesn't have to be expensive - a book, a cigar, a toy helicopter, a shirt. Something to get my attention.

I get thousands of emails but I only get mail once a day. And when that happens you have my FULL attention.

So if you really want my help to promote your product - try harder and do one of the three things I mentioned above.

From now on lame attempts get outed on Facebook and banned from my email account.

I love the idea of #3. If anyone sent me a RC Helicopter, they would be in my wedding party!

I like this post. I think there is a lot to learn here, especially when trying to take advantage of someones resources. Thanks for the post!

Why the hell didn't you say so Kern, you newb! Sheesh!

While this thread is progressing I actually got an email from some one who's name I won't mention requesting me to review a product for the Offline space as a wso. It's not going so well, I asked how many clients they have and the reply was a little sketchy at best. Next question was how long have you been providing services to small businesses? Lets see how it goes. LOL

LOL. Question is, where do we send it !

(why didn't I think of that??)

    Paul

PS. Note to newbies... what Tim says it true - 100% - if we don't know you you're email or PM is going to get relegated to the back bench with all the other people we don't know.

Sorry, that's the way it is.

Gotta love the PMs and emails where they say how much they respect you as a marketer and you're one of the few they follow... but they're not bright enough to blind copy so you can see the 20 other people they sent that exact same email to.

What's that the youngsters say? Oh, yes...

      Epic fail!

@op no offense but nothing i've found via google on "Frank Kern" seems particularly extraordinary so i'm not sure why everyones emailing you, but I think it'd be wiser and far more profitable for people to build their own list. That way the only people they need to "impress" are their potential customers.

For years I have always contacted super affiliates in the various niches I operate in by sending them small acrylic awards that cost between $5-$25. The award would say something about congrats on being a super affiliate or affiliate of the month. I would attach a letter explaining what i had to offer with the package.

It worked like a charm. The conversion rates on acquiring super affiliates were always off the charts with every campaign.

I also like to send a pizza to people if I know they will be at the office or at the address location i have for them. I have repeatedly turned a $20 pizza into a 6 figure deal.

I have even used this a few times to send a full meal to an office. There is no better way to get your foot in the door somewhere than to get a whole bunch of employees talking about you.

And for the record, I'm not like Frank Kern. Although we both have ex-wives and the ability to upset others with our cussing.

That's about all we have in common.

Also Red, if you let the original message go to waste, that's your choice, not mine.

By the way, if you want to know where to mail packages to affiliates get on their email list.

      We all list addresses there.

If you're unsure just email them. Something like this.

      "Dear Tim -

I want to send naked photos of my wife to you. What's the best address to do that to."

That technique works 100% of the time, 87% of the time.
