People search for threads all the time and if your posts happen to useful to the browser they will usually push the thanks button.
I have thanked people that have posted years ago for example.

Yep. This is the answer.

Now, to get down to why it is happening...

If you would just stop posting so much good stuff, it will finally stop. :p

Sometimes I don't come in the forum for weeks, but my Thanks count grows even when I am gone.

Last night, two of the threads that I had received several Thanks on disappeared, yet I had more when I woke up than I had when I went to bed.

If you want to check whether any post you have made has been replied to then check you "subscribed threads" - you are subscribed to any thread you have replied to by default.

You can find a link to them at the top bar under "quick links".

As for mystery thanks - people can thank you weeks afterwards - especially on popular and long running threads.

RBT...I think you scraped the wrong list, too. I'm not even thanked in some of those threads. I can see all of my thanked posts...there's 11-12 pages of them. I just don't know which ones are recent thanks...I'd love for the WF mods to install that add-on you mentioned where each 'thanks' is dated.

I just updated that post to the correct list. I tried a few different footprints, and must have posted the wrong one.

Still, I haven't been able to figure out how to scrape the exact post.

No...I've had several threads that I started disappear, yet I keep the 'thanks' I'd gotten in those threads. I was quite upset a week or two ago...a mod deleted one of my posts that was over a month old that had an idea I was really trying to get an answer about...I had a ton of 'thanks' in there, too.

You can very easily see where all these thanks are coming from.

1. Click on your profile page:

View Profile: JaRyCu

2. Click on 'Statistics'.

3. Click on 'Find all thanked posts by JaRyCu'

This will give you a list of all your posts that have been thanked, starting with those most recent
