[for List-Builders] How to get those "above 50%" opt-in rates...
Joking aside, I would like to share something kind of personal with you today. I'd love to get your thoughts on it.
I'm going to lay out my testing framework for my landing pages and squeeze pages. Kind of high-level stuff.
Oh, and did I mention that testing is how you get those above 50% conversion rates people love to brag about? Yep. Testing's where it's at.
Anyways, I've tried many different approaches in the past. Here's how I do it these days:
1. Plan. I think about my traffic source, my freebies that I have to offer, and what I want my prospects to ultimately do. I think about this and plan out the next steps. When planning my squeeze pages, I get ideas from what's worked before plus what I see out in the market.
2. Test different page formats. I usually test 4-7 different formats. These pages have broad copy, trying to hit all the hot buttons I can think of, plus a broad offer that delivers what I think my prospects want.
3. Test different hot buttons. I use the best format from the last step, and test the 3 or 4 most salient hot buttons I can think of or have seen others use. Usually in the headline. Do they want to quit their jobs, have a second income, or strike it rich? Etc.
4. Test different offers. I use the best converting page I've got so far and test a few different offers. An 'offer' can include a lot of different stuff, so I try to only test my best few ideas. Do they want a diet, a meal plan, recipes, or maybe some motivational videos? A short report, video course, secret membership? Resource guide, step-by-step blueprint, or 'done-for-you' stuff? Yep, offers can get complicated.
That's the framework that I use. I generate all my ideas first, then put them to work through this framework. Then afterwards, I'll either go back to the drawing board or else I'll test smaller and smaller things (like button text, colors, etc).
How do you test squeeze pages?
