Old Website...Keep or Delete?

So I've got this old site that I started up sometime during the 2008 Presidential Election season (I got a little too caught up in politics back then) and as you can see by looking at it, it was very short lived as I lost interest in it quickly! (letusdrill.org)

I don't have the desire or the time to blog on it myself, but I've got a copy of WP Robot so I'm trying to decide if I should clean it up, switch it over to Wordpress and install WP Robot and some adsense or affiliate offers and let it run for a bit. I just don't know if the topic is worth anything.

Any thoughts?

Oh, and fyi, the site counter shows over 10,000 hits and the AWStats in the cPanel seems to show some dropping but consistent traffic since then but the ads on there now have never made me much of anything. So keep or delete?

If you are still getting visitors.. I would say.. keep the site and provide a couple links to your new website or other resource or provide affiliate etc.,

I would suggest you to just keep it. In case if you plan to revamp again, you can do it without starting from scratch.

Yes defo keep, if it is still getting traffic, as you may want to come back to the project a some point and i guess it's not costing much (if anything) to keep it right now if you have already brought the hosting and domain.

if you are getting some targeted traffic in your old site, you can keep it. Then you can work around it to promote the site.

I would say keep it, and just add news about gas prices and drilling. Perhaps I could help you out with it, I love following this in my spare time (weird, I know LOL)...

If its making money then keep it, otherwise work out a way to make money from it and keep it - or kill it.
Forcing yourself to try and make a site profitable is a great exercise - you might be able to sell it or swap it even

If the websites are still getting traffic, I don't see why you want to delete them. Keep the sites and monetize with Google Adsense. Old websites tend to rank higher on Google.

If its listing in the search engines and getting traffic you might as well try and make some moeny on it by adding google ads to it... especially if you dont plan on using it for anything anymore..

The presidential election is coming soon. Your site may just pick-up up during the run up.

Why not do some SEO until then and see what happens.

No harm in trying different ways to monetize it. Maybe write 12 short articles, set to autopost every month for a year, and match with some broad audience clickbank ads for writing/surveys.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I know I need to do something with it for sure! I did even try to sell it on flippa a few months back but didn't get any decent offers, but perhaps if I fix it up and can actually start making some money from it...who knows! I just can't keep paying for the domain though if I'm not doing anything productive with it!
