What's Your Best Bounce Rate?

My success rate is directly proportional to several factors, but one of the main factors is my bounce rate...

The lower my bounce rate the more success I have. My best bounce rate is 40.80% (across the whole site, on average). My worst is 90% What's yours?

My best bounce rate is around 45%.
My worst bounce rate is 93%. And, it because of Adfly traffic The traffic's quality is very poor.

I got my best bounce rate from signature traffic.
The more targeted your traffic, the lower your bounce rate will be....

How about 1.34% bounce rate across the entire site is it good enough?

I think my visitors are sleeping on my site

I've never done anything special actually on that site, it's one of my product with lots of documentation and video tutorials. Another factor why the bounce rate is so low because I don't have an affiliates who are randomly promoting my site to various places with low quality traffic.

A high bounce rate does not have always a negative influence because some visitors land on a page and exit after clicking on a web banner.

I wouldn't worry too much about bounce rates. You need to figure out how to get more than 27 people a day to your site.

I'm a newbie here but mine is averaging at around 25% at the moment - having said that, it is a three week old blog and I have heard that bounce rates are generally lower on blogs - am I right? Gama, 1.25% is amazing! Mind you, you can tell looking at your page/visit which is high at 10.64. Mine's around 9/visit. When did you start your site?

Derek, how about adding a cliffhanger opener to your website ? Just like in a novel, you've got to draw them in with content. My favourite novel opening is from Brighton Rock by Graham Greene. It goes something like this - "The minute he arrived in Brighton he knew they were going to kill him" - wow! You want to know who? .. who wants to kill him?..why do they want to kill him? when are they going to kill him? so you keep on reading ..and the same goes for websites - OK, I'm not advocating a Brighton Rock style approach to your website but ditch the violence bit and you're on to a winner. Oh, and don't give them everything on one page - make them hunger for more and click through.

Here's some good tips of how to lower your website's bounce rate - by Kevin Nakao

With the explosion of social media sharing and help from smart SEO, many web users are bypassing businesses’ home pages and landing directly on product pages and blog posts. Thus, businesses need to optimize their “first impressions” at all entry points in order to reduce bounce rates. Bounce and exit rates are often confused, but have different definitions and purposes. Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors that hit a page and don’t visit any others within the same site. It should be used to measure the effectiveness of landing pages and is connected to SEO and paid advertising campaigns. In some cases, a page may be designed to give the consumer the information they need and nothing else. In this instance, bounce rate may not be a relevant metric. READ More>>>

Not seeing where this is that important. If you have a low bounce rate and still are not making sales isn't the problem somewhere else?

Seems to me, unless this metric is directly tied to sales, its not going to matter.
