Should I List My Internet Business on Local Directories?

I have a question:

Should I List My Internet Business on Local Directories?

I have an online Sports Training membership website that I'm just now launching. My primary business is going to be online training and group coaching via Skype/Webinars.

Should I list my business on Local Directories and just use my home address as my 'home office' or 'home based business'?

Or should I not list my online business in any local directories since almost all (if not all) of my business will be online?

As I understand it, the backlinks would help with SEO.

I'd love to hear some expert opinions on this topic.

Thanks for your help!

As long as it free, you should list your business in local directories, as much as possible. More listing = more exposure = more traffic. Combine offline with online, it works and it's an easy way to get traffic for your online business.

More listings will not hurt your business more.

You want to get as many backlinks as you can to your website. Have you considered getting a mailbox, so you do not have to include your home address in your listing?

That's a great idea, but I wouldn't put the home address because people could look at your home on google maps etc. I would suggest getting a p.o box or something similar. That way you won't expose your home.

I agree, definitely don't use your home address. Get a P.O. box or use a maildrop service. Other than that, it doesn't seem like a bad idea.
