authority review site or multiple landing pages?

hi all -

as a new IM student
the more i read, the deeper it gets...
and the more links and posts to other links and posts and information.
so i'll just keep asking questions and gathering research!

i was going in the direction of thinking i would create multiple (starting with one) landing pages/web sites for each individual product i wanted to offer...

and now i just read a manual that speaks about having one "authority" site in a certain niche and posting multiple reviews with offers on the one site rather than many.

i suppose i may do both to get the feel of how they both feel and work.

any insights are appreciated regarding the differences/pro & cons/preferences etc.

    Im new at this too. But moving in the right direction. I think about these problems all the time. I think an authority site is better long run in MOST cases but not all.

    Some Pros of authority site:
    Once built you rank higher for NEW related keywords faster and do not have to start over.
    Google values them more.
    You pay less per month as you only need one domain.

    The only PRO of owning multiple domains (that I can think of):
    You can get a domain name with an exact name match and get a boost in SERPs.
    (Related is you can buy a used domain with decent PR).
