Is moving subscribers from a prospect list to a buyers list worth it?

I have been creating a few sites over the last several weeks, which will collect visitors name and email, in return for something of value. I have heard several marketers on this forum, and in a few courses I read, that say to move people who buy your product, to a buyers list.

I have set a couple of my lists up like that in Aweber, but how far do I go with it. I have several digital products, that I own, to sell on each site. None of these sites are live yet, so I don't have any data to go by.

If a subscriber on my-list1, buys product one, I move them to buyers-list1, but then what. Now I start to promote product two, to both lists, and some people on buyers-list1, buy it.

Do I put them in with the same people in buyers-list-2, even though they bought different products to get there? What if someone in buyers-list-2 buys it, do I make a buyers-list-3?

I know how to do the automation in aweber, so that is not the problem. I am just wondering if the benefits are worth the added work, of writing emails for multiple lists, or if keeping them all on the same list, works just as well.

Would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks Glenn
