Article Marketing

I am getting a few Articles written to help promote one of my niche Websites.My plan was to submit one of the Articles to all the top directories.My question is do people send for example an SENukex link campaign directly promoting the article which has my website Link URL on ,or is their another route that people choose.I ask as I am inexperienced with Articles but know they are good to get traffic to a Niche Website.
