$25 for the best marketing idea

If you had a service that was targeted to ebook authors (expecially ones that have had at least a little success)

How would you reach them?

Where do they hang out?

How would you market to them?

Just to make this a little fun I'll give $25 for the best
idea.

You're welcome to submit any idea, but the more obvious the
idea the less of a chance of winning.

Just to protect myself, I reserve the right to decide who wins.
In case I only get a few obvious or joke responses, no one will :-)

Looking forward to your ideas.

Ron

    How would you reach them?
I would try to contact them through their websites. Maybe buy their book and contact them afterwards. Depending on your service the ROI might be good. I know I am always more willing to lend my ear to a paid customer than a cold email.

    Where do they hang out?
    Many of them are here

How would you market to them?
Offer them something for free to prove your worth then upsell them to your paid service.

It depends on the service you plan to offer.

You might want to look into surfing forums for writers and wannabe writers. When you find a possible prospect, send them a personal email. Not a sales pitch, a personal note. Ask them how they deal with whatever your service does. If they answer, hold a conversation.

If you want something with a little more leverage, take what you learn from your conversations (research) and turn it into some banner ads. Use Adwords' site targeting option to place your banners on sites where your prospects might see them. Sites like blogs reviewing ebook creation software, or tutorials related to ebooks. Even the directory sites where authors can upload their promo books for free.

    That should get you started...
