Local business directory question

For example I already created a local business niche directory. How to get paid listings in your directory?
Im thinking to list their business first and then call or email them that their business is already listed in my directory and then ask them if they wanted to renew their listing for another year. Do you think this will work?
Let me know more ideas please..

    Go head over to the offline section and search for the Bower method by John Durham. What you are talking about is exactly what it teaches. I'm not sure if it's a WSO or it's free but there's info on it in the offline section.

    It WILL work but I'd cold call and pitch it. There's countless examples of multi-million dollar companies doing the same thing so it DOES work.

    My best opinion is just run a promotion on your site like 50% off for July or something like that, then e-mail people whom you are targeting and tell them about the offer.. This will help you to convert massively....
