I've been playing around with this tool and the numbers just seem to low to believe. Some of the averages are 309k and for feb it is 40k. Most of the data for Feb is not available and the average search for one term is 1600 per month but the competition is 133K. Any ideas on whether this is way off?

All keyword tools are way off. Trust me. If you want to use adwords tool make sure you select exact search instead of broad. If you want to know how to do keyword research the right way, Read John's report he sells for only $7. I posted about it on my blog here. Yeah. I think there is something wrong with it. I searched a couple keywords yesterday and the nos. from yesterday and earlier now don't match. They are way, way off. I have no idea which results are more accurate though, so I decided to take a break and I'll tackle it in the morning. Naima |

I use the google tool for a general idea. I don't think the numbers are very accurate like the others have said.
