Default 1/10 Quality Score with AdWords???

Hey there

I'm really angry at AdWords

Not talking about their overpricing

They have these stupid rules with the Quality Score

Have a look at my squeeze page : Search Engine Optimization Secrets

I try to place the ad for the keywords based on the "search engine optimization"

I get 1/10 Quality Score everytime I register a new copaing

No metter if I make some adjustments to the page.

Question: did AdWodrs really go crazy?

Cheers

Hey mate,

AdWords requires you to have a Privacy Policy, Contact Us and Terms of Service. If you don't have those links on your site, your site will get slapped giving you a 1 quality score.

Best wishes,

- Derek

True,

Like Derek said - a Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Contact Pages are a must, but Google also loves content sites -- so linking to a blog with 20-50 (updating) posts as well helps. Sitemap also helps too.

Cheers,

No, squeeze pages are fine. You just need a Privacy Policy, TOS and Contact Us page.

Event David Deangelo, pretty much the most swiped squeeze page on the internet, has those links:

Dating Tips - Secrets To Attracting and Meeting Women

You can make it small font light grey on the bottom, but they still have to be there.

I have one page sites that have 8-10 quality score on Google.

By the way, unless you already have brand/traffic established, I'd start with a new domain name.

If you got "slapped" by a human reviewer, you'll need to wait for another human review to "unslap" you. Unfortunately, that can take weeks or months.

Instead, often times when you get slapped the only way out is to buy a new domain and start from scratch.

Also, one of the factors that goes into Quality Score is the account's history. Instead of trying to climb from 1 QS and move back up, I'd just start a new AdWords account.

You can generate a new credit card number using PayPal's "secure card" feature. This allows you to start as many AdWords accounts as you want with completely different credit card numbers.

You need to make sure of a couple of things:

- Keywords either in domain/folder/file name
- Copy has to have some keywords, as well as titles and descriptions
- Privacy/Disclaimer

Try doing those and seeing if it lifts your QS.

Eh ... Close your old account then.

The idea isn't to run multiple ads for the same keywords, it's to get rid of you Quality Score history.

You really have to do full-on on-page seo with adwords now-a-days.. and you have the term "search engine optimization" on your page what? one time?

Like some of the others pointed out, you'll have to add some other pages.. it doesn't really need to be the ones listed, they're just the easiest to implement. Although google does mention a privacy policy, etc, I have plenty of sites without those pages, but as long as it has at least a few pages of some sort, they all do ok - even 10/10 scores. They are basicly just more squeeze pages, but with reworded bullets (centered around slightly different but related KW themes).

When I've been hit with 1/10 scores, I've had to start over with a new domain. I didn't need a new account, and even copy/pasted the old ad text and kw lists to a new campaign pointing to a different domain.

Jason: Just want to point out ... There are two levels to Google AdWord's Quality Score system. First, you're checked by the automatic system which gives you a quality score. Within 2-6 weeks, you're then visited by a human checker.

If you don't have the Privacy Policy/Contact Us information when they come and check your website, that's when you'll get dinged.

If you put those pages on your sites, you'll be much less likely to get hit with a 1/10 quality score.

Best wishes,

- Derek

The days of one page squeeze pages are gone, you need at least a privacy, contact us page to get by. I personally put a blog on my squeeze page and gradually put a few posts every week. You really should treat your landing pages like seo and take into consideration your keyword density, h1 h2 h3 tag placement.

If you don't want to give the visitor any exit links, you can put these links at the bottom of your site and make them hard to see (like gray foreground white background).

In my opinion keyword research and landing page are king. I would make a landing page for each set relevant keywords. You want the visitor to be super targeted and decide to opt in.

I've made make over $12,000 thanks to the Profit Lance Internet Marketing course. Profit Lance has helped me succeed and now I'm helping new members do the same.

I have been running google adwords for several years now. I only had ONE site with a listed privacy policy - none have a TOS. The only ones with a 'contact us' page are some of my lead generation sites for bricks-and-mortar businesses.

I also have some squeeze pages out there that would never pass a human review Some are over 2 years old, some only 2 months. None have a quality score lower then 7.

The only sites I recall that I've ever had slapped were 1 page squeeze-pages.

Maybe I have been exceptionaly lucky.. but my experience has been that every multi-page site I have built with good on-page seo has never ran into any problems with QS or been slapped. That includes sites that are pretty much just a collection of 5 or 6 linked squeeze pages

I guess my point is that, contrary to common belief, I do not believe everything gets a 'human review'..

Although I disagree with the privacy/contact pages being required , everything else here is spot on.. Invest the time up-front to do these things correctly, and I doubt anyone will run into any probelms.
