Yeah, I would say a week, maybe less. I would find a hot product and create a review/discount site (2-5 pages). Make sure Local Search is under 10k. Youtube the bloody thing to death with keyword rich videos. Yahoo answers possibly, forum posting. For seo, I would use things like unique article wizard, press release monkey, sponsored reviews, pingler, linklicious, and maybe even some social traffic...linkbait.

Given the right keywords, I agree that this is entirely doable.

Not SEO. As an example, I done something yesterday that brought 500 visitors in a day. It maybe sounds great, but I only got 3 subscribers from it. It only took me 5 mins, maybe less so it was worth it.

Even if you were to do a forum post every day you would probably get a lot more than 10.

It all depends how fast you can set up the website.

Oh, well it certainly possible with SEO also. Provided you target low competition products, spinning up several product pages and digging them can result in very quick indexing and ranking.

I've still to try SEO, but I will soon. I'm just trying to sort out on-page SEO at the moment.

To be honest if you hit the right keywords and ping the site to be indexed you could be seeing it next day.

It really depends on how much work you put into it. If you work hard at getting manual backlinks in, you could be there in a few days. The keyword is of course: Manual.

As one Warrior put it in a similar thread: "How long is a piece of string?"

If you've done due diligence in your niche/keyword research, you can actually expect to get hits immediately - or as soon as you're listed on the search engines. 'How much traffic' depends directly on ranking - most people aren't going to click on results beyond the first two or three pages of results to their query, and their query might or might not be very focused and coherent.

How much content are you planning? How long will it take you to write it or outsource it and put it online? And will it be content rich, high quality, or some mindless rubbish because you don't have enough interest in it to give your target audience what they want, what they need? How much additional reading and research do you anticipate?

Clue: this is why I strongly recommend you choose niches you are genuinely passionate about, already know very well or would like to, so this 'IM thing' doesn't turn out to be exchanging one miserable rat race for another - only this one, IM, doesn't pay you for merely showing up, putting in your time, or doing a lot of work.

One good post on a highly trafficked section of Reddit can easily bring traffic > 10 uniques per day in. A single Reddit submission has brought 40-50 uniques per day to a new site and only took a few minutes to do.
