RSS Feeds For Article Marketing

I'd like to ask for opinions on using RSS with article marketing.

I have many articles published on a bunch of sites, but I doubt if these sites get much traffic. Most of the large article directories, ie Ezine, have author rss feeds, but most smaller directories do not. Most have 'topic' feeds, but not 'author' feeds.

I have a script that creates an RSS feed of all the instances of an article if it is indexed in Google. I call these 'author feeds'.

I have been publishing my 'author feeds' on several RSS directories and aggregators. I have even created a couple of FeedRinse 'channels' containing related article feeds. It's too early to see if this is of benefit or not, but I'd like opinions.

Will my efforts to publicize my articles on these directories help traffic?

What do you think?

It will help on the article directories that have high PR. By submitting your feed to the RSS directories you'll get a few backlinks pointing to your article and it may be enough to get you article to rank higher in the SERPs. A small trickle of traffic from the RSS directories would be expected too.

It will definitely help in your ranking but do not expect a horde of traffic from RSS directories.
