Which do you think will convert better?

Hey guy's,

I really need to split-test this but which squeeze page do you think will convert best?

Free Gift | auctionbusinessmasterclass.com

Squeeze 1 | auctionbusinessmasterclass.com

I know that video is all the rage, but I personally like a 'to the point' squeeze page.....

Thanks

Ben

I've been list building for over 8 years now and I can safely
    tell you that...

out of the two squeeze pages you've created...

between the video-based one and the text-based one...

    I've no idea. Seriously.

I'd be guessing and so would anyone else who attempts to
    give you an 'answer.'

    Test it.

Ask your market via a split-test and they'll give you the
    right answer every time.

And track all the way through to sales - not just your
    visitor-to-subscriber opt-in rate.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

    Shaun

If it were me, I'd use a combination...

Use the video and headline (including that style of text)

Lose the subheadline in black, you don't need it.

Place the ecover image under the video

But like Shaun said, no one will be able to give you a 100% certain answer.

      Ben,

split testing is only way to know this.

Send coupe of hundred targeted visitors from same quality source to each version and see for yourself, which converts better

      Thanks,
      Jay

        We all agree about that.

I know pretty confidently that in any of my 8 niches, the one without the autoplay video will convert significantly better. But this is an "MMO niche" and may therefore be different from all my experience.

Not autoplay video, surely? Only because there are so many marketer-enthusiasts and so many sellers, and so many promoters of this stuff? It's not actually based on anything real, I think? I may be mistaken, but I'd have thought that even in this niche, autoplay video will lose more people than it gains? (Test it and prove me wrong. I may be - I have almost no experience in the niche, and am very happy that way!).

You may need far more than that, for a statistically significant result. That depends on the numbers, and is something you can't know before you start. It's pretty unlikely that 200 would be enough, but if you find yourself needing as many as 3,000+ to differentiate significantly, then it probably isn't worth worrying about - at least, not regarding that traffic source.

They have to be "from the same source", not just "from the same quality source".

Yeah..I'd use a combination too. The video placed as it is and the ecover above the opt in form.

IMHO, I think a video is the best route to go down, but I'm just giving it to you from a newbie point of view of what I personally would rather go for - however - I would prefer a video with you talking to me rather than the video as it stands with just words on the screen - there are some very good examples of what I am talking about at the moment on Youtube - have a look. When you do it, try and really engage with the audience - sit forward in the chair etc and get some real enthusiasm in your voice - I think this would be better than what you have at the moment (though the content is good) and would greatly improve your list building. Hope this doesn't offend you, but that's just my honest opinion.

As a fellow Brit, we are up against some very enthusiastic Americans out there who have been brought up with honed presentational skills - I know, as I went to first an American school and then a British school when I was growing up and in the American system you do "show and tell" from preschool up - presentation is in their blood (luckily now in mine as I am a lecturer)! If you want to compete in this market I think that you have to embrace that and get in there - 4 minutes short and sweet - practice a couple of times first - have three main points and then go for it - good luck!

I personally wanted to give my email in the video page, the other page doesn't engage the visitor so much as the video one.
If a user stays to take a look at your video its more likely they'll enter their email.

That's a huge "if", though: how about the majority of people, who won't stay to look at a video: you don't want to try to opt any of them in?

Maybe its just me, but I am sick and tired of video's, especially the ones, where you can not fast forward. I want to do one of 2 things, hit the back button and/or fall asleep.
Or maybe my attention span is too short. God knows. Anywho, split test, then you'll know for sure. That is what I am doing.

I like the video squeeze page better. The ebook image squeeze page could benefit from some improvements.
