What Did YOU do when you Felt your Passion Slipping??

Hi,

I never thought I'd post something like this in the warrior forum but here goes...I'm not a regular user of the forum anyway and just set up this account specifically to post this.

I'm not sure where to turn now so thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm basically a bit lost now for direction and not sure which path to take...

Also I work in isolation and embarrassingly don't have anyone else I can ask.

Basically I'm looking for some advice on:
- What direction I should take, or
- Direct advice from anyone else that has been in my shoes and decided they needed a change too for the best.

So anyway here goes...

The Situation:
- I currently run an offline marketing business specializing in SEO and make a reasonable amount per month (not great but enough to get by)
- It's just me running the show and I outsource the majority of the work.
- I have a good relationship with my clients etc

The Problem:
- I come from a background in a traditional corporate job and few years gave it away because absolutely hated it.
- Anyway want bore you with all the details but worked really hard to get to this point..gave up a lot..so I taught myself everything. A lot of "no action" too and time wasting. Like lot of people I guess.
- On that note I wouldn't call myself "naturally gifted" but more "disciplined."
- But it just seems like now I've gotten to this point I can't lift to go to the next income level...yeah i know BUT

The Reason:
- Reason is because to be honest I think I've lost the "passion" for the whole offline marketing thing.
- I mean I do enjoy certain aspects...but I always work 7 days...above all I guess it just feels like so another job now...partic all the time spent dealing with clients...I always want to get to my own projects but it NEVER gets off the ground[/B]
- The more and more I think about everything as well is that I've always been a "generalist" throughout my career...in the corporate world and even now. I think that's part of the problem too.

Has anybody else out there experienced this and decided to get out? I'm just interested in your thoughts generally. What you did? How you went about it? Maybe you too decided it just wasn't worth it in the end in terms of lifestyle?

At the end of the day I'm probably not the best offliner but I'm not the worst either but I really don't see how people can scale an offline marketing business up to have so many clients even with outsourcing and enjoy a good lifestyle? That's what I miss the most. Yes, I know it's about systems and outsourcing but even with that...

My Concern:
- Anyway I'm not sure what direction I should take exactly now.
- My concern is I can really feel my enthusiasm slipping and I don't want that to reflect on myself. It might be easy to say well pick yourself up...
- So I'm not sure if I should get a mentor? Get a business partner? Or just keep persisting while looking at other options?

OK that's all I have for this post. Obviously I can only say so much in a "public thread."

Look forward to hearing your thoughts. I'd prefer if you emailed me directly but you can post in here too.

Please note: I can not respond to PM's due to post count. You can also email me directly: jasonbalwick at gmail dot com

Thanks

    Hello Jason,

It seems that you're loosing grip to your source of motivation to get things going. In my case, when I somehow feel demotivated, I ask myself for whom do I do all these things. You need a mentor that could see different angles. While you're waiting for the responses of our fellow Warriors and while you're looking for a mentor, you may want to read these helpful threads.

    I hope these help, Jason.

Personally, When I loosing my passion (To succeed), I re-read success stories of those who have made it despite the many obstacles. There are many success stories here and online. Those tend to pump me up.

Also having a mentor who pushes you can help t keep you on track. Some times when you know that you have to report something (Progress to some one), it helps to do some small things related to building your business. This is where a mentor can help (Different from a boss).

It is also important to know what your motivation is in the first place. Why are you doing it? What is motivating you to do what yo are doing? According to the book THINK AND GROW RICH, the main motivators are: Love, financial security, fear among other. So know what motivates you and think about it whenever you are getting low on passion.

And lastly, I think you have heard about the idea of a Master mind. Do not work in isolation. build a group of like minded people. Try to surround your self with people who are interested or doing what you are doing. They can help to keep your motivation high
