active warriors: where do I find specific email lists to rent?

I am building my business as we speak and as excited as i am, i am wondering where to find an email list that i can rent/ borrow that concentrates on certain niches (weddings).

I know i can contact wedding newsletters etc, but offering my product to someone who already has built a list, would be even better. What is considered to be the common cpl for these lists?

If you happen to know any advertising platform for this topic, that would be appreciated as well. I have two already, but the more the better.

More tips or advice?
I would love to hear from you!

Try looking for blogs centered around the wedding niche. Take note if they are collecting emails. If they are its your lucky day! Subscribe to the newsletter and respond to one of the emails with your proposition. Offer to pay a set price or % of your sales in exchange for a few emails.

    Good luck!

If you look in the back of many wedding magazines there are classified ads for many mail order type businesses. They are great to contact because not only do they have a "list" but it is a "buyers List"

Thanks a lot for the tips! I will definately look at all you have suggested. Never done email marketing, so i'm a little nervous about that. especially since I'm not the best seller. My information and blogs are always sound and rank great, but don't convert that well. Now that I want to use email marketing, I would have to find a way to combine giving information and selling my product, that is professional and solid. Especially in this topic!

Any tips on how to sell fun personalized items that don't need a lot of info?
Also what is the price range for renting email lists? The two ad platforms offer frontpage ads for $40 a month or so. the visitors are about 300.000 a month. Good deal, right?

OK guys, straighten me out here...
Have read that there is a federal law concerning unsolicited email (UCE).
        UCE is classified as spam.
UCE happens when the recipient did not opt in.
Spam filters try to prevent spam delivery.
Akismet and a multitude of others make a living killing spam.
What keeps rented lists from being classified as spam.

When you say email lists to "rent" do you mean purchasing solo ads?

Here is a great resource for mailing lists.

    As recommended by Ryan Deiss:

Mailing List Finder -- Search & Compare Mailing Lists

I just did a quick search and there are plenty of wedding lists available.

Try searching the big article directories like GoArticles or Ezinearticles for articles about weddings.

Follow the links in the resource boxes. If they lead to a blog, check to see if it has an opt in page. If so, contact the blog owner to arrange a mailing.

The same principle can also be applied by searching affiliate networks like clickbank, jvzoo etc for publishers of wedding products.

      All the best

Do not rent or buy email lists. You will get screwed.

    Let me repeat that.

Do not rent or buy email lists. You will get screwed.

One more time so it sinks in.

Do not rent or buy email lists. You will get screwed.

    Hope I made myself clear.

Try looking at my signature if you want to do some email marketing. The reviews are almost embarrassing as to how good the customers think it is.And it is less than ten bucks, so anyone can afford it.

      1. Nice little bit of self promotion.

      2. There are plenty of ways to safely use other people's email lists for promotion. The service I mentioned above is one such way.

It's not as easy as saying everyone will get screwed because it's simply not true.

Also, do you know how many companies get sold and purchased on a daily basis where the email database plays a BIG role in that purchase? A LOT. They don't get screwed because they are legitimate companies selling legitimate assets.
