Giving Away E-Book with Master Resale Rights or Private Label Rights for Free- Is it Legal?

Hi folks,

I was planning to write an e-book on blogging to give it free on my new website, but due to avalanche of e-books on the particular topic, I planned to buy certain eBooks and software, which has master resale rights or private label rights. Is it legal to do this?

If it is legal, the feel free to provide some websites, which sell eBooks and software with master resale rights or private label rights.

The whole idea of plr is so you can give them away, when buying a plr product it will say on the sales page what you can or can't do with it! Make sure you read that bit carefully!

If the rights says it's allowed, then it must be legal. But, you should really write your own if you can. There maybe thousands of blogging books out there, but none with YOUR voice.

You usually get a TEXT file that reads out the rights YOU have for any particular PLR product you have.

If you cannot find this file, just check to see if the publisher of that content has left their Email address or any other contact details and ask them what your rights are.

Hope this helps you in any way.

Good luck with your future efforts my friend!

Some of them are giving you the option to give it away, always read the disclaimer/plr rights description to see if they give you that option.

In general these are the thumb rules, and you have to look in to each for specific restrictions

Master resale rights --> Gives you the right to SELL not giveaway for FREE, only thing you can give is for your customer to resell the product also...

PLR --> you can use it as you please..

Private Label Rights (PLR), Master Resale Rights, Resell Rights, Private Label Right, plr ebook, video, plr articles. Worlds largest catalog. seems to have some good stuff... depending on your niche ...

Don't listen to this advice. All plr means is that you can label / change it with your information - thus the "Private Label". It does not mean you can do what you want with it.

There will be a rights file.

For instance here is one of mine:

Sometimes it doesn't even mean that.

I've seen stuff that is sold as PLR but is really no more than resale rights - you couldn't change anything and didn't even get source files to do so anyway.

Don't get too hung up on the "words" used to describe the license. Check the rights to see if you can do what you want to do - give it away, rewrite it, rebrand it, etc.

If there are no rights shown, ask the seller to tell you what they are. If they're vague or won't tell you specifics, keep looking.

        John

Not all PLR has MRR (and most of it doesn't), so make sure you read the sales page and the terms of service carefully before you distribute PLR. You can usually use it to give away, but not resell it. Just Google MRR or PLR ebooks + your niche and you should easily find what you are looking for.

Look carefully at the rights of each. As others have said, MRR and resale rights usually mean that you can only sell the content (without changing it).

PLR usually means you can change the content however you want.
After that, each PLR provider may have different rules. There are some who allow you to give the content away anywhere. Others will only allow you to give it away as part of a paid product. There are also some who set a minimum price that you can sell it for.

Here are a few sites that sell PLR ebooks and reports. It's also very easy to bundle up several article packs or reports into a larger ebook, which means you'd have something more unique and valuable for people.

    - Special Report Club - Melissa Ingold
    - All Star PLR (Niche PLR Packs) - Peggy Baron
    - Net PLR - Ruth Pound

    Hope that helps.

As has been mentioned, what you can do with any product will be determined by the license that comes with it. It's that simple. Most often when you get to see exactly what you can do with a product in the sales copy. If that's not clear it's a good idea to contact the seller and ask. Good luck.

Like the others have said, just about all PLR (and most MRR) comes with a Notepad or something that lists the license of the products. Some PLR is allowed to be given for free and some is not. But the rights for each product is normally pretty easy to find.
