Good Morning,
I have recently published my first site and I feel that it has a bit of a generic feel to it.
I need to come-up with better content, this i know. However, are there any tips on correctly monitizing my site?
I promote one product, but that may not be the way to go about getting sales. Instead, I'm considering writing articles about my niche and placing banners on my site with links to products in my niche.
Is this a reasonable way to proceed?
Should I just stick with what I've started and continue to push this product?
I feel like a "groupie" for this program that I am selling and that my visitors, if any, are going to get the same impression.

Thanks

You might want to invest in a nice header. The site really doesn't look too bad.

Are there more related products available to promote to the "belly fat losing" audience?

Are you not making any sales or is it too soon to tell?

I just launched the site last week and updated the site with multiple pages two days ago.
No sales yet and I am doing the backlinks with socialadr and other book marking sites.
I don't want to jump ship, but I feel that the site looks a little cheap!

I think that I will give it a few weeks before I change the formula. I guess that I need a little more patience.

      Thanks for your post!

Ways to monetize your site include
google adsense or such programs that your site qualify for
Affiliate programs related to your site used as back end products
get a list and then market to that list.
I hope this tips will be of help to you.

From the sound of it, you are being too generic with your site.

Being more specific and offering values (a.k.a helping) your visitors will make it easier for you to monitize your site.

Start by looking at what you can offer in terms of content and find a closely related product that you can promote.

Before you can monetize the site you need the traffic... so really its about monetizing the traffic because a site without traffic wont make you any money. You should check my sig at my blog I just wrote a post about monetizing your website a few weeks ago.

Do not think about monetizing right away. If you make your site overtly promotional, it might work the other way round, that is to say, your visitors may get turned off. First try and add some quality content and build some loyal traffic. Once your start getting repeat visitors that is when you will get your sales.

You are in a pretty high competition area doing diets and getting rid of belly fat. Have you considered other niches?
