Affiliate Marketing Physical Products - Your Views!

Hi Guys,

I would appreciate all affiliate marketers views on doing Affiliate Marketing for eCommerce stores that sell physical products. You guys can get the traffic, recommend them to certain niche traffic.

If I was to offer an affiliate marketing program to professionals such as yourselves where certain products may range from £100 to £300 how many of you would often be interested?

As an ecommerce store, affiliate commissions would never be as high as click bank i.e. 50-70% so does that turn off any attraction already or does it really depend on other needs?

I currently work with a company that have an established business and a warehouse of around 485 products. I do my design work as often as I can also. As the profit margins would often be higher on higher priced items, would you still go for it?

I would really appreciate your views, as it is definitely something I want to consider offering to Warrior Affiliates down the line.

    .
As profit margins are higher, yes people would go for them, because people would chose to promote a higher profit item via affiliate marketing, compared to a lower priced ebook.

This is why the big marketers have affiliates to promote their high end products, as they know the affiliates will sell them, and the affiliates want a high profit margin.

I have also experienced this in my own products too, higher margin products do pull in more affiliates.

But your physical product must be good.

Thanks for the insight Matt. I have done affiliate marketing before, however it wasn't as effective as I wanted to be. From an eCommerce perspective, would you ever suggest using a "tell a friend" approach and offer them commission, if so how would that be set up if you was to use a Magento platform for example? Maybe this is not your field, but still worth asking

My advice is to sell them through Amazon. I know they take a bigger percentage, but they are VERY good at selling stuff, and there are large numbers of affiliates like me who are ALREADY looking on Amazon for suitable things to sell.
