DDOS protection seal (fake or not)

Hello Warriors,

I found this profit sharing site (easymoneyshares dot com) and it has DDOS protection seal that is not linked to the security provider. I don't know if it's fake or not. What do you think guys?

PS: I don't know if this thread is in the right section. I'm sorry if it's not.

No, it is called for from sitelock.com. Line 200 in the source code,

Also line 196 links to a php verify page.

It seems legit, but I'm not an expert on this stuff, and always happy to learn.

Oops, just found out I can't post links yet. Had to take out the main part of each link, and that was the part going back to sitelock dot com. Rats, had to delete the links and the image source and can understand that, but anyway, you have the lines in the source code for them.

If you look at the source with Chrome, the line numbers will be given. If you don't have Chrome, some text editors will give you the line numbers, like Notepad++.

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, the site is verified by sitelock.com. And then, the site has fifth seal (the one that has shield on the logo and text "DDOS Protected"). I doubt if that seal is also issued by sitelock.com.

Site is down for me... Maybe it's DDoS [ironic smirk]

Anyway, as far as I know (and please feel free to correct me here) SiteLock does not offer DDoS protection.

I`ve looked at their plans and closest thing I found was a "Brute Force Attacks Scan" section.
Also the word "DDoS" dose not even appear on their site.

So this Seal sounds fishy - to say the least.

It's a vision of security. It someone will try to attack your website via DDOS - it depends on your hosting company, not on your website.

People like to be secured and happy to pay for this. One of the most profitable businesses is an insurance. Look - companies can protect your from everything. But it's only a miracle. If something will be happened with you - it will.

To avoid DDOS attacks just choose good hosting company and ask them about this.

I am using NameCheap for both - hosting and domains - for almost 4 years and everything is cool. Once I got DDOS on one of my popular websites. I got a special message from NameCheap support that they stopped attack and everything is OK.

Well if you are DDOSed then you can hardly do anything. But I think using cloudflare would be a good step to start.

Thanks. We can generally help mitigate most attacks a great deal.

Sitelock is actually a CloudFlare app partner & I don't recall them doing anything relative to DDoS protection at all. The primary focus of their service really has to do with detecting things like malware & helping site owners identify/fix vulnerabilities. Probably a fake seal

Yes, I think so. The image is just uploaded on photobucket.
