New Website Advice, please check it out

Hey,

First off thank you for taking the time to read the post!

So, I just started a new website, projectcasting . com, and the whole premise of the site is to give aspiring actors, the opportunity to check out casting calls, and auditions, without having to pay $500 a year or more like other sites.

So far it has a decent amount of hits (on the first day, I was able to get a little over 500 page views) it has steadily increased over time, but not dramatically.

I had the site going on two weeks and averaging about 500-600 page views a day.

I am looking for any advice. It is a wordpress site, so it is SEO optimized plugin, xml plugin.

I am also thoroughly involved on Facebook and Twitter, and I ahve close to 1,000 Facebook likes.

Questions:
I was recently declined by google adsense, when and what type of advertising should I use to monetize the site?

Any ways to increase web traffic, or am I on a good track so far?

Any advice is appreciated thank you

    Ok I've checked your site, first of all, what's up with all the white space at the top? Maybe your intentiosn are to add a banner ad there, but for now it looks terrible, looks like something is missing in there.

    Also, I'm not quite sure about the logo, I'd also include the full name in there PROJECTCASTING. and probably a nice tagline next to it.

    At first it is not very clear what the site is about, users have to navigate to the "About" page to find out. Because just by visiting the homepage looks like an etertainment news blog.

    Also try to add a lead capture form maybe in your sidebar, you can giveaway a 10 page report on how to improve your acting skills or something like that, start building a list! don't waste all those 500 UV you have every day.

    I was hoping to add ad sense at the top banner, but since they rejected me I was debating about adding my own banner, or adding another advertising company.

    I will put something their that identifies the website.

    I think that is a good idea, a 10 page report on how to improve acting skills. But, I was also able to build over 50 subscribers to the website as well.

    While you have plenty of comments on articles I'd suggest adding a blog to engage your visitors. Then, you they'll tell you what else they want to see on the site.
