How to Motivate Employees so you make more money

I run a taxi company in the Uk, I have achieved 400% growth in 9 months, but one of the biggest problems I used to have was motivating drivers until around two weeks ago where I changed my method of motivation. Pretty basic but don't know how effect it will be in the Im market.

What you drill into their heads, they are part of a wining team, just this simple tactic has improved productivity (in managers and line works by around 15%) cut out the bitching by 500%, the complaining has nearly stopped lol.

The conversations always go in the same direction, '' your part of a wining team, now behavior like a winner''

few days later ''how does it feel to be part of a wining team''

day later ''what you going to do to keep the team wining''

that's the key points but you might have to communicate it in a manor your work force understands. wow it works, maybe it actually allows them to have some kind of job security I am not sure, I am just lucky that my industry is in general decline and we have destroyed the competition.

You might also consider establishing a profit sharing plan where everyone gets an additional reward based on the team's performance. Random cash bonuses work wonders too -- particularly when given for contributing to the team in some way.

Also, customer feedback should always be passed along to the employee. If a customer takes the time to call or write about their positive experience with your company/driver - make a big deal of it.

It's not just about money, it's about feeling like one is part of a team, making a contribution for the greater good, and being acknowledged for it.

The school my 7 year old daughter goes to has started a new "I can..." scheme which encourages positivity. There is a noticeable difference throughout the school.

On the other hand my daughter has developed some less favourable traits such as "I can stay up as late as I want!"

An employee feels motivated if he is paid well, and also feels like he is part of a winning team. You should tell them they are doing a good job when they are.

First of all congratulations on your success within a short period of time.

Your drivers are in the field, therefore they are more closer to your target market and most likely going to proffer solution and ideas that can seal lingering troubles.

Implement the team work culture and equality.

Have a suggestion box, inscription on the cars or something like that where your clients can leave feedback.

Hire good hands in the admin.

    Introduce staff welfare.

Already you have squashed the competitors but still gather the things that they do rinse and add/improve the positive part to your business.

    Get a business management book.

    To Your Success,
    John

Aside from, of course, from monetary incentives like the following:
    1. Wage increases in accordance to performance.
    2. Bonuses
    3. Profit Sharing, etc.

There are many other ways on how to motivate employees because, after all, money is not everything.

Just try to remember this, employees always want, need, and deserve a good pay and participation in how the company runs (even in some little way). Basically, make your employees important and they will be generally motivated. It's just up to you on what techniques to apply in terms of participation of your employees because you know your company and your employees best.

Also, one of the best ways to increase motivation by giving more job satisfaction is to give your employees periodic (or even daily) challenges to handle-just something different from before. As the challenges stimulate their mind and release them from the trap of recurring regular work, the rewards from it should also be substantive. Rewards could either be monetary, recognition, both. This technique will most likely increase job satisfaction even if you choose not to give monetary rewards.
