If so, it feels cool to think of it so early, but I'm sure others have thought of it. 3D websites. One day computer screens will have dual layered screens to support 3D, however dual layered websites would still show up normal?

My only issue is if 3D never takes off. Because it still hasn't seemed to take off like predicted. Thoughts?

Man, 3D is just a trend, nothing serious. Fashion! If you still have doubts try to do a research.

If no one is doing it - this doesn't mean that only you invented this. It means that it's not required.

People go to cinema for 2 hours and they are focused on getting relax with 3D. Imagine to get your eyes fcuked for all day browsing websites in 3D. No way.

Good idea, but it's just an idea. If you are looking for new opportunities - write me a PM.

Sounds like what Bill Gates said about the Internet in the early 1990s.

lol...funny to think you wouldn't even be able to turn on your computer with that now xD
One day we will probably just plug our brains directly into a virtual reality system and walk into the "warrior forum lounge" and have a drink with fellow warriors. Seriously

Is that a 'virtual' drink with fellow Warriors?

I don't believe it will catch on, I think the simplicity of researching the conventional way would be tarnished if it were flashy and 3D. At best, design would improve but I don't think 3D would be the way to go. As the OP mentioned, it may be good for gamers but I'd leave it at that. I'd actually be turned off a website which was 3D.

It WILL catch on - no doubt about it.

Look how fast 3D TV has caught on. I bought one two or three years ago when they first came out, and already there's absolutely nothing broadcast in 3D - lol. Actually, there hasn't been anything since the one and only trial broadcast the week after I bought it.

That said, the Olympics are going to be broadcast in 3D I believe down here in Oz, so I might get a chance to fire it up again.

                Cheers,
                Paul

All efforts so far have been nil I think.. maybe one day. There was surely a day they said that motorized bolts couldnt take you from point A to point B, and now we have exotics on the road!

I Love the Idea of 3d websites. There are so many 3D items out there - in fact Avatar ( some of ) was made in Australia and so was some other big 3D movies. 3D intergration into the pc - love it.!.

Well think of the possibilities for 3d websites, 3d flash games, the websites would serve a somewhat different, more creative and perhaps way of interaction.

Now I'm a firm believer that 3D won't be as big as they say it will, only because even today a lot of people still prefer to see regular movies over 3D (doesnt matter for me). That doesnt mean it can't slowly trend into the usual.

So if it does become the usual, 3D on a computer is only naturally next. Having screens like the 3DS would seem ideal, although you'd have to be directly in front of the screen, but who likes looking at a screen at an angle anyway.

That's just my take on it after brainstorming through some of your thoughts

I can see how gamers might really like the idea of 3D but besides that I don't see why there would be much of an interest. However, we all know technology could take us to places we can't imagine. Until a cost effective and useful way to have 3D happens I don't see much of a market for it. It hurts my eyes just thinking about it!

Something about an idea is that when you get it, over 1- 1000000 people around the world have also thought about it as it a ripple effect.
The difference is following up with your idea and making a difference with new and improved approaches

I will have headache when I see 3D more than 30 minutes.

I have spoken to a lot of people and they can't stand looking at 3D for a long period of time as well.

Realize how much time you are spending in front of your computer in a given day. I don't think you'd want to see all of it in 3D...
