Don't know about making TONS of money...

But, I do know you can use WWW 2.0 sites to complement your
online marketing efforts.

For example:
- A nice following on Twitter that you can contact at a second's notice
- A Facebook page you can use for business purposes and name/brand building
- A MySpace page for... uh... annoying visitors with crazy Glitter

I'm sure you get the picture.

By themselves, they'll do nothing to make you money. However, you can use
these sites to build "buzz" for a new product launch for example.

Web 2.0 doesn't directly make you money but is very helpful.

You can setup a blog to create anticipation of your product launch.

You can also post Free information to prove you know what you're talking about, and get immediate feedback from your customer base.

Take a look at what Frank Kern did with his Mass Control launches as an example.

This hardest part about making money with social media is that it takes time, and it is usually a savvy crowd.

The challenge with Web 2.0 is that you have to consistently add value to your audience. If you do this, you'll build strong relationships and hence earn trust. It's this trust that will enable you to use Web 2.0 to make money.
