Hey There, I just wanted to make a post to share a couple lessons with you that I've learn since starting my challenge to create a $4k business from scratch within 60 days. It's 24 days in right now and something interesting and really quite disappointing has happened... One of the methods of promotion I've been using has been social bookmarking. Just today I went to submit a new article posted to a site I made and found that I was not allowed to post. In my cycle of getting things done and working a little on overdrive, my account had been flagged as a non typical user I guess. They had not only banned me from posting the link that I wanted, but any link hosted at the same domain. Before you get silly ideas, no it's not anything dodgy, no I haven't used automation programs and I haven't been going crazy spamming people. I've really been posting probably once a day with various sites hosted on the same domain. Not exactly a super-user or at least I thought, just caught up in my world of getting things done. In turn I've come up with these guidelines for myself and thought I'd share them here. The New Social Bookmarking Guidelines:
), you will probably get more out of them personally and finally if it all goes wrong you're protected as well as you can be...Best Regards, Daniel McClure P.S. Feel free to add your own comments and 'lessons from the field' in this post. It would be interesting to hear other peoples take on this... |

In my opinion, you should be careful when you are using the top social bookmarking sites. They are the ones which take regular action on users who submit content from same domain again and again. One of the main social site that is very strict on submitting links is Digg. In digg, if you are going to submit links only from your blog, even only once everyday, you and your domain will get banned. So to escape from getting banned, the point #1 you said is right. In fact, you can increase it to more than 5. Maybe 7 or 8 other articles for every single article from your domain. Just what I learned from using social sites. |
