Is Twitter Working For You?

Hi Guys,

There has been so much talk about "Twitter" recently being the number 1 Social Media Tool, that I just wander if it is actually working for you with your marketing campaigns. If you are using it to Market your products and services, have you been getting any significant results in terms of Traffic and Sales?

If so have you got any cool Tips or suggestions on how to use it effectively,

Cheers for now,

Steve

Thank you for this information. I am new to all this internet marketing field. I hope you will not mind my communicating with you regarding your experiences. I do not believe in re-inventing the wheel and am a good student of those who have already blazed the trail for newcomers.

      Thanks.

I use it to make more contacts esp. with fellow internet marketers and also get traffic to my site by putting the URL on my profile. It's not good for promoting your products or service, it would be taken as spam and people will start unfollow you.

I LOVE Twitter. Not only have I met hundreds of cool people, but I feel like I've got my finger on the pulse of the world to. It works well for business as well, but you have to use it right.

Once you have a following, you don't really have to "work" or "game" Twitter. As you're researching within your niche and find a tidbit of good information, send out a tweet. When you do a blog post, tweet. If an occasional blog post promoting a niche-related product, it's OK. You'll make sales from Twitter traffic. If you offer a niche-related freebie on your blog with an opt-in, you'll build a list from Twitter.

If you send out a bunch of direct affiliate links to your followers, you soon will have no followers.

Twitter tends to be somewhat less responsive and less forgiving than a mailing list. However, it can be a source of extra traffic that takes almost no effort.

I had to work at it at first but now twitter runs itself for me. I have been on there 11wks and have in excess of 20,000 followers and get several hundred people join my mailing list, get new customers and market my products and i also make lots of friends it really is as great as what people say.

why not give it a try and if you dont like it what time have you really wasted!

At first, I thought Twitter was ridiculous, but now that I've figured it out (thanks to Tweet Deck), I can't believe how easy it is.

Getting followers is easy, but I like to take it slow so I can learn who to interact with and then slowly increase my followers 100 or so at a time.

I use it in two ways.

For my 'flagship' blogs, I follow people who are in the same niche. They usually auto-follow me (and TweetLater then sends them a thank you email with my URL).

For my auto-blogs, it's another method of generating traffic with Twitter Tools.

So, it's ok. It's easy. It's not the best traffic driver out there, but it's alright.

Good quality tweets are a great way to promote your business for sure. Its always important to mix your tweets with some sociable and friendly messages, and then your business url info, via tiny url. Much like emailing, you can build a rapport with people by having sociable tweets without constantly promoting your business! Hope this assists!

I'm still learning on how to use twitter - especially for marketing. I heard Dell used to sell computers - why not anything else.

    It has potential.

the idea is that you can find out what the other is posting and follow what they say and they do the same for you. So if you post a special offer to one of your products they will be able to see it a lot easier.

I'm crazy about Twitter, but I don't know if it's 'working'. I don't think it's a good tool for direct marketing, but for research and connecting with people or staying connected it's awesome!

I have friends and family who are either just getting started, so I wrote a blog post on Twitter basics: Eclectopedia

Twitter used to be good when it first began.
In my opinion it is not that good nowadays. Most of the people that use twitter are webmasters, so it is like "Everyone's trying to make money from each other, but they can't".

It is not bad.. but it was much better...

The whole marketing world opens up for you and the money-making possibilities are endless... just start by establishing relationships. The next thing you know you've got traffic, customers, joint ventures, and offers of all kinds. Make friends first and offer value in most of your tweets.

    Peggy
P.S. To make friends, "reply" to others' tweets.

      So true, Peggy...

Just focus on building relationships and offering value in your "tweets"...

hi - i am new to all this also. I joined Twitter a few days ago and only have a few followers! I don't understand how people would find me on there so I'm just posting into the ether with no one listening!!!

I looked at the suggested users list and only found some really high profile names that I wouldn't want to follow anyway. So how do you get followers?

You find folks you DO like to follow and join the conversation.

I've just followed you. Feel free to go through my follower/following list and pick some folks to follow that you find interesting.

Some will follow back, others will once you begin communicating.

      Nice to tweet you.

    Hi danih2o,

Start following others and then "reply" to their tweets. When you do this, their followers will see your name, pop over to see what you're about, and follow you if they want.

It's important to have an interesting bio on your Twitter page so people who are interested in the same things will follow you. A little humor never hurts either.

You can go to the search feature at the bottom of your Twitter page and type in whatever your interest is. For example, I type in internet marketer, or copywriter, etc. (one at a time) to find people in those arenas.

I think building a relationship with your audience is really important before you start pushing any promotions. Trust is key. And constantly update your Twitter. Don't let your account go stale. Its an ADD world out there!

Hmmm.. twitter can help you to enhance your business here:

How to use Twitter to enhance a business:confused:

    Step1
Joining Twitter is the first step.
Head on over to: Twitter what are you doing? and sign up.
    Step2
    Once you sign up:
Follow me: Twitter/power selling mom and I will be proud to be the first one you're following. Send me a message through the system and let me know you found me through this article.

You will now be on your way to building your business by using twitter.
    Step3
Search for people of the same area of business as you.
This is easy to do. Simply go to the "Search" bar located at the bottom of all twitter pages. Or follow this link:

In this search box, type in a few key words to your area of business.
Example: I would type in: EBAY.
Then I would be able to view the list of all those involved with eBay and follow them.
Most people generally follow you back in return and you will be able to continue to grow your followers.
    Step4
Time to be a "Twit" and post a few bits of news, links info. whatever you desire.

Start the day with a Good Morning.
Type a note about lunch or an appointment you may have.
Share a bit of your "Private World" with those following you.
Then you can share business links and proposals.
Share your blog, websites and friends.
Please feel free to share my website:
    PowerSellingMom.com ((smiles))
    Step5
Twitter is like a social and marketing world of unlimited opportunities.
Take advantage of it while it is popular and HOT!
