List Building Question

I have a list of around 6,000 emails that were generated a couple of years ago using a email client. I am now using Aweber and would like to know how I can utilize this list I have. I tried importing the list into Aweber but they will not allow me to since the list was not generated through them. I know that these emails are golden as these are all from people that purchased a product from me in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks In Advance

I'm very surprised that Aweber won't allow you to import the list, if you can show them that it's a genuine customer-list. They normally allow that, but require a re-confirmation request to be sent in the first instance. What exactly did they say about why they wouldn't allow it?

I would try GetResponse, next, myself, and see what they say.

One would think this shouldn't be a problem for a mainstream, orthodox autoresponder, provided that they're satisfied that it's a genuine list, and that you don't mind sending a re-confirmation request? (I strongly suspect that there won't be an autoresponder company that will allow it without the re-confirmation request, though - for obvious reasons - not if it was built using an email client).

Call Aweber (877-293-2371) and explain the situation. If you have adequate subscriber credentials (subscribed IP address, time stamp), and can convince them that you do have an established business relationship, they may import this list into your account for you without having to re-confirm. Note that a "buyer" without these specified opt-in credentials under Aweber's TOS does not qualify for being added to a list.

The email client used in the past was constant contact, no op-in required. I have talked to aweber and they said no.

If all the methods mentioned above dont work, install an autoresponder plugin in your wordpress site, and import them.
