Hanson v. Google Settlement Fund

I have received several checks over the years from class action lawsuits that I did not know I was a part of. Usually, these checks are for three or four dollars. Today, I received a check for $100.48 from the Hanson v. Google Settlement Fund.

I will Google it in a bit, but right now I have no idea what the suit was about. I'm guessing it has to do with AdWords.

Anybody else get a check?

It seems Howard Stern (the shock jock, not the lawyer) was also a plaintiff in the suit. I will use that from now on... I recently teamed up with Howard Stern and got a settlement from Google. Howard and I are close like that.

Yes, I got one for $26.55. I've also received sporadic checks over the past 2 or 3 years as a result of law suits I had no idea I was involved in. I remember one was for less than $1 - I think I tossed it. These days I seldom if ever go to the bank in person, and it would have cost me more than a dollar to drive there.

I agree and am now wondering if being unknownly involved in this settlement caused all the sudden bans. I have always been honest and the way Google just treated me and many others should be against the law. Rude beyond rude.

Just under 10 bucks. Had to Google it to see if it was legit. Used Adwords ages ago. Just started using it again at the end of last month and you can bet I'll delete the campaign and ads once I run through the free Adwords voucher.

I think I tested the adwords many years ago for a few bucks. Only once. I didn't even know about this google action thing. I hate these class actions.

The check came to my old address.
On the back of the paper it says if you had a change of address please complete the address changed and mail back to ....so and so

And guess what....I will have to put a postage stamp that cost is it $0.45, which is more than the check I received for $0.03?

I mean....do they need my new address? I don't want to cash 0.03 dollar check. Do I have to cash this?

Make sure you bank your checks
not matter how insignificant the amount.

$0.35 or $5.00 -- It doesn't matter.

It's not the amount that matters. It's the principle.

If you all toss your checks in the bin
then Google wins out yet again.

On the back of the paper it says if you had a change of address please complete the address changed and mail back to ....so and so And guess what....I will have to put a postage stamp that cost is it $0.45, which is more than the check I received for $0.03? I mean....do they need my new address? I don't want to cash 0.03 dollar check. Do I have to cash this?
