Wordpress Adsense site Post/Page Structure

Hi,

This is my first post. I've searched a bit, but couldn't find a thread that answered my question so I made one.

The website in my signature is the site I'm referring to.

I am new to WordPress and IM in general so I'm having a bit of a hard time organizing my site.

I got my articles written professionally and put them into pages initially but then deleted the pages and rather put them into Posts due to the SEO capability.

1) Should I use pages or posts for optimizing my site with Adsense?---(Should my entire site be build upon Posts, or do I have to use Pages?)

2) What kind of hierarchy should my site have? i.e. Categories, Menus, Pages, etc. (In other words, is just cranking out posts enough?)

3) When I crank out new content, I put them into posts. I have a Blog Page for all my new posts as well as a sidebar displaying my recent posts. Eventually, will I need to organize my posts into pages after 40-50 posts?

I guess I'm just having a hard time with the PROPER use of Pages, Categories, and Posts

ANY help would be appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. Eventually, I plan to contribute and be a more influential member. Right now I'm just an urchin lol

Easy Adsense plugin will allow you to put Adsense into posts. You can also edit these on pages and sidebars. Read more on Google Adsense Terms & Conditions

I've removed the ads from above the fold because I think it comes off as more important than the content you've spent time to write. I wrote a few posts regarding this some time ago but they are still relevant.

For my personal website I get the most from ads at the end of the article, post or page.

Currently I'm writing what was once a page and is now a guide. I will give you the link once it's finished if you are interested.

    Good questions.

Yes, most blog content should be in Posts, not Pages. In Pages, put just the static information such as "about us", "contact us", "privacy policy" and "FTC declaration", and by the way you MUST have all those pages, linked from each webpage you own, if you are going to use AdSense. I tend to edit the footer, and put small links to them all, in there, so they appear on every page automatically.

As you are starting to see, you can also use Pages to make navigation easier, although you should do the best you can with categories and tags, anyway, ie. make a lot of categories, so that people can find what they are looking for, and use tags well for the same reason (as well as for SEO), but yes, you can add additional Pages serving an Index function, as well, and link them from the sidebar (just put standard html links in a Text widget there, to do that). As you are seeing, the easier it is for the visitor to find content they want, the better results you will get!

    Hope that helps

Thank You Chris, pennyroll, hernalian, and Wade.

You have all helped someone when you didn't have to. I'm glad we have forums like these where people are willing to help out a newb.

I have done all of these things: Policy Page, About me, et. (I have done some editing since asking questions).

I have also removed some of the obnoxious ads. I think I might go with pennyroll and just remove the ads and focus on content and lead/subscription generations. After all, adsense revenue is like at a 1:25 ration when compared to a GOOD money-making email list!

I have interlinked my posts and will continue to crank them out. I paid $140 to SEO fou posts, but if I'm going to crank out posts (>20), I think I'll just pay for SErobot or something.

I looked for "dynamic navigation" plugins for my page/post navigation,,,,,, didn't work. (wp dTree). I'll have to try the Text Widget (Thanks Chris). I guess the simplest solution is sometimes the best. I'll try adding categories when I get more than 4 posts.

Also, hernalian, I will put hyphens in the slugs of my posts from now on. This time I can't because I paid an SEO guy to promote un-hyphenated. Live and learn.

Thank you for all of your help.

I hope this thread can help someone else. I think I'll just stick to email/affiliate marketing.

      Thanks
