Who here tracks/tests their metrics?

I'm curious what % of active internet marketers really track their metrics.

Because, quite honestly, if you are not tracking and testing your metrics, you are leaving mountains of cash on the table.

If you have a conversion rate of 1% and you boost it to 2%... guess what? That's doubling your income!

It just seems that most of the discussion regarding tracking/testing is in the paid traffic world.

But if you get ANY traffic from anywhere, you need track it and test it!

There's better tracking software out there, but a great free and powerful tool is of course Google Analytics.

Its goal tracking features are pretty awesome for tracking conversions from 1 page to another.

And things you want to test for are copy, headlines, sales funnels, opt-in forms, etc. I think the best marketers are always tweaking these things.

What kind of businessperson doesn't track/test metrics? I'd say you'd have to if you want to succeed.

Haven't you just skewed your poll by saying this (bolded above)? :-)

Great topic. Everybody says they track their metrics, but you know many (most) don't. And no, seeing how much you have in your bank account doesn't count. While I'm convinced that managing by statistics is wildly important, i could use some tightening up myself on occasion.

I test and track all the time. From website design, sales copy, product image, product price, and even product name.

I track them everyday. Most CPA marketeers build their business on tracking (not that I am one.)
But I assure you a good number do track their metrics.
