    No.

God I hate the "third tribe"...

"let's all blog about blogging and how it helps me travel the world, see new places, talk out my a$$, and get high off my cult following....all while condemning internet marketers but being one of the most manipulative types of marketers ever to grace the net."

Sorry I'm being a troll but this is one of the areas where I agree with the likes of the infamous salty droid. and I hate that a$$wipe too.

Funny. And I get the distaste for the unhypey hype of the overhyped ... but that doesn't make blogging about blogging a bad thing necessarily. The what isn't the same as the how and who and the sheep who eat their poo. ... In fact, I don't know if I should even be so hard on the overhyped themselves. They're just doing what they think they should be doing given what lies in front of them at the moment (like the rest of us, pretty much).

Still, I get where you're coming from. The backlash has begun.

I agree that blogging about blogging isn't a bad thing. But I disagree with proclaiming to be an expert on something when you have no effin' idea what you're talking about. For one example, I interviewed Tyler Tervooren of "advanced riskology" and the guy's a joke! He created the site on a hunch and he only draws his authority from his time selling things in college. whoa Big risk there buddy!

I also dislike the BS they post, going back to tyler's blogging blog, Tyler posted an article about "how to fly an airplane without a license." I'm a pilot so I found that to be extremely insulting, especially because he actually believes that an introductory flight was flying!

There's many other examples I can cite, (catfish parade, laura roeder, itty biz, illumitated mind, far beyond the stars, mars dorian, etc) but I'd rather not rant on and on.

I think most people with personal development, lifestyle design or social media blogs will talk about blogging. I suppose it's just like the new "Make Money Online" fads.

Some people make it and some don't. I don't really know what's inside their paid courses so I can't really comment, but I enjoy reading their blogs and some things are pretty cool.

I think everyone should have the opportunity to become successful. Usually the people who do must be good at something.

Yess she is, but she's also annoying IMO. (like most attractive women)
I agree that these are the new trends in marketing, but I challenge their credibility. I can show you some of their products...since I admittedly read their stuff.

I've also seen bloggers that actually have excellent credentials (ie. an investment banker with an investment blog) that aren't as "famous" as these people...makes me wonder sometimes.

Pat Flynn is the only example I know of that isn't a "famous" blogger that isn't an faker...but he's not a "third triber". lol Johnny B Truant isn't tooo bad.

I think you might be looking at things through a marketers glasses.

Laura Roeder helps small businesses use social media. Something they no little of. They buy from her because they like her and she must explain stuff well. I don't think she cares about being the biggest expert in the world.

Tyler just has a personal blog that he has had success with because people enjoy what he writes. He's starting an online coffee business which is a big risk, no?

I don't think Pat is the only one who isn't faking it.

Corbett Barr runs a traffic blog - He has a lot of traffic
Derek Halpern runs a psyche/marketing blog - He gets people a lot of conversions
Adam Baker runs a personal finance blog - He cleared his debt
Chris Guillebeau runs a travel/blogging blog - He blogs and travels the world

I could go on and on. I'm just saying that people don't have to be the best in the world. There can only be one, but if someone starts a blog and has success they shouldn't feel bad about it.

Yeah I am looking at it from a marketer's perspective. I think that just because you, me, or they had personal success with something...does not mean those said individuals have a claim to authority in that area. But hey, it's not what I think, it's what consumers think. And they do have decent lists of subscribers. I just know that I'm very critical about the authority I can claim, so that's why I'm critical of them.

PS. I forgot about Corbett - I like him and have recommended his products to others before. Haven't heard about Derek Halpern, I'll have to check him out.

This is my personal experience, most of the people who blog about blogging don't have any f'ing idea what niche they want to be in.

Most of 'em are just learning how to blog or are new into IM, and it naturally becomes the best possible thing to blog about.

So, did I mean no one knows about the subject who blog about blogging? Of course, not! There are some experts out there and one of them is Daniel Scocco.

      Others are just POSERS!!!

So long as you're voicing an opinion and not telling the world you're an expert when you're not, I'm all for people having blogs about blogging. In fact, I'd say I've learned 99% of my web design, development, and content strategy skills through blogging alone. My brain just works that way.

If I cared what other people thought, I wouldn't be moving out West in a Camper Van next month

Do what you love! And do that **** often.

There is no inherent problems with it as long as you don't end up chasing your tail. Like affiliate marketers who only talk about how to make money with affiliate marketing. You don't want to be like a monster devouring itself.

I can't say that I do, but I share how to blog with my team in my network marketing business. I guess it is just due to the timing factor, because I have so much focused on my niche, because it is what I love to talk about the most online. It can get you a lot of respect if you share something that is valuable to your readers without a doubt. The make money online niche is obviously huge due to the amount of people in here and gives you a shot at a large audience, especially if your blog ranks well. I would do it if I had more time away from the niche I love the most.

  • I don't do blog about blogging. It's kinda weird for me. For sure there are loads of bloggers who are into this niche already. I do blog about certain things such as affiliate marketing, freelance writing, and other personal subjects about life and love.

I blog about blogging and stuff related to it because that's what's worked for me. I love the residual aspect of it and being able to work around my own schedule. I'm a procrastinator. With that said, I've also worked in other niches like learn Spanish (Spanish major in college), dating (couldn't take all the whining and complaining) and gardening. One of the things I like most about the IM niche is that there's always something going on. I found some niches were to slow for me.

Well we have a blog about online marketing practices and more.
Blogging about blogging, i guess someone is making money of it, because there is huge chunk of beginners looking out on how to do it the best way as it is a good online marketing technique, one of the " easy" ones.
But eventually i guess every online marketer has/will have some posts about blogging, as blogging does take a big part of their everyday life, and many people blog about a lot of things related to their life, so eventually a post about blogging will come up.
