How to monetize domain names?

Hello, I have about 40 domain names without content and I tried to park them on a popular company that has this option of parking, auction etc....the thing was I made only 3 cents so far in about 3 month. I wonder if another better idea?

    A lot of domainers build a minisite on them. Don't know how this is working since the Penguin, but parking doesn't normally make you very much money.

    I was wondering, could you follow 'bring the fresh' program and build 40 sites according to their blueprint? The guy who runs it talks about one page sites. Is that right even after he Google updates? or should a site have 3 unique articles. You basically need a strategy which maximizes every single domain. The aim should be to recover the cost of buying the domains and hosting, then achieve pure profit.

      That is genuine snake oil. Minisites haven't worked out well for much of anyone. I guess lowering the bar even further to the point of 1 page sites was the next step for the bizop guys. Don't believe any of it.

      I know of one guy who spent $25,000 having a ton of minisites created several years ago and even back then the project was a failure. I've personally had very limited success with them.

    What did you originally buy the domains for?

    Has your plan always been just to park them and try to make money off of them from parking?

    I've been thinking about just throwing $5 at someone over at fiverr to see what kind of content site they could throw up quickly. Depending on the subject of the domain you might be able to put up some clickbank, ebay or amazon links to a product or service.

      I bought them last year, about 5 or 6 to build some websites, others to protect the names I'll use for my websites and the other to sell them and make money, but while I have them for sale I thought, It could be good idea park them to earn some money till be sold, but 3 cents in 3 month was not was I thought.

    You could try to sell them on flippa. Make sure to let the buyer now that they are aged domain names. This really helps SEO. Just because you don't have a need for the domain names does not mean that someone else cannot use it and willing to make an investment.

    You could try to sell one at a time or bulk your choice. Good Luck!

      Yesterday for first time I took a look at flippa and I thought was only for websites, but if you suggest it I'd think would be also for domain names...I'll take a look more dataily, thanks

    Welcome to the forum ArielT. It's in your best interest to focus on one site, and try to monetize that one. 3 cents in 3 months isn't good.

    Well, I thought that this practice is declining gradually in the recent times, as people have become more conscious towards it after the changes in Google algorithm.

    Until your domain name is a one word short and very common domain name, your wasting time trying to monetize plain domain names alone....

    I would advise against parking too. It is better if you go with developing them with micro sites. If they are type in then they might convert well too.
