No, 4-5 visitors per day is not something you will typically see much success with. My goal is a MINIMUM of 100 visitors per day for each new site I bring up.

Isn't a minimum of 100 visitors a day almost impossible to achieve with an amazon niche site?

A lot of amazon guides recommends picking a keyword to focus with 1500 local monthly searches. That's roughly 50 searches a day. And most often than not, it is difficult to get the number one spot for that keyword, making it difficult to attract those searchers. And let alone getting a hundred visitors a day.

I've seen some of you post about how you make your amazon site I believe you mentioned (correct me if I'm wrong) how you don't research the number of searches for the keyword you were trying to rank for.

May I ask how you achieve to do get hundreds of visitors for your site without even checking the keyword you work with for your website?

It depends on how big the niche is. Remember, "niche site" does not necessarily equal "small site". All of my sites are niche sites. However, most of my sites contain no fewer than 50 product reviews.

I target low competition products that nobody else (or very few others) is targeting. Think of it this way:

Option A: Targeting "digital camera reviews" (74000 monthly searches) and never ranking even close to the first page of Google = handful (at best) of visitors per day. Also need to spend hours and hours and hours backlinking trying to rank.

Option B: Target 50 different digital cameras (each getting a handful of searches per day) and ranking for all of them on page one = lots of targeted traffic (collectively). Also, very little (if any) backlinking needed since nobody is targeting the individual products.

I'll take Option B every time, especially since I am very good at identifying easy-to-rank products.

I agree with wolfmmiii too. If you get anything less than 100 UVs its not worth pursuing in my opinion.

Hello iammiles,

If your current keyword gives you a considerably good number of Local Monthly Searches(LMS), what you need to check is your means of driving traffic to your page/website. Have you contacted any SEO service provider on how they could drive traffic to your site? What have you done so far to attract traffic?

You need to keep your site at the top of the SERPs to see good success with Amazon niche sites. Only 4-5 visitors a day will not make many sales, less than a quarter of your previous sales. However if you have a ton of niche sites all somewhere on the first page then you will still see success even if each site isn't getting huge traffic. You'll never be able to make a living off one niche site targeting a keyword with only 3600 searches.

No, I haven't contacted any SEO service provider to drive traffic on my site. I believe that cost some money and i got none to spend lol.

That's my plan. Building more niche sites to earn more!

This is my first website and the guide i followed was teaching the option A. I think this option still works. My website started ranking on google first page around the last week of June and so far, I made $25 which is decent for a newbie like me (first time that i made money online).
However, I could see why option B would work better. From reading your post, I'm actually planning on creating a website that follows what you're doing.

Yeah, I have google Analytics set up. On the day i posted this, i actually got around 10 visitors, the following day, I got 9, and on July 9th, I got around 20 though my ranking didn't change at all.
The traffic comes from google search engine (almost all from the one keyword that my website targets which was "[product]+reviews")

Do you have analytics set up on your site? Do you know where your traffic was coming from. That may give you a clue as to what has changed. If this were my site, I would try to fluff up the inbound links. Find some relevant blogs or even forums in which to participate. Put your website in the sig. Even write some articles and offer them to bloggers.

Yeah you definitely need more than 4-5 visitors a day to make any kind of decent money. I'd just focus on adding more content based on longtail keywords and building more links.

Watching your rank go up and down can drive you nuts - just focus on building your site up!

Try building some manual banklinks with high PR blog pages and also forum backlinks. It may help your site back up again.

Try to add more contents and target more long tail keywords. I always find that the long tail searchers are always the one that converts better. 4-5 visitors is not worth much. You can even write up reviews on related products and put up a comparison on which products is better.

I would suggest setting up tracking id with a software to keep track which keywords are really the buying keywords but I don't think Amazon Associates allows that. They only allow you to have a puny 100 tracking ids. I did that with ease with Ebay Partner Network dynamic tracking id though. The next best thing is observe your analytic stats and make guess work correlation on which keywords cause the boost in sales.

The only way to know the answer to that, is to wait a while and see how many sales you get. Or you can do the necessary work (backlinking) to get your site up to #1 again, and see if your sales are more than your costs (in terms of time, if you are doing it all yourself) to get back up to #1.
