blog network owners - is it a bad idea to submit sitemaps?

I saw you can submit sitemaps with google webmaster tools, and now video sitemaps as well.

It helps you get indexed faster/better - but if you are running a blog farm/blog network that can be considered 'shady' - it's probably not a good idea to use these tools right?

If you submit all your autoblogs and one off blogs to google, doesn't it just link your stuff together so it can all get deindexed at once?

What's a blog that can be considered shady? I don't think submitting a site map plays any role in anything, the bots will just take longer to crawl through your pages.

If anything you seem more shady for not having a sitemap

The simple answer is no one really knows but common sense suggests that it's a bad idea to let the people you are trying to manipulate (Google) know what's in your tool bag. A sitemap isn't essential for a site to be crawled by Google - any backlink pointing to the domain so the bots know it exists will do the trick.

Make sure you don't have all these blogs on one ip for starters and you would have to buy 500 domains as subdomains won't do it. I am busy building as private blog network and I have 160 dedicated cclass ip's to start with and that alone is costing a bit already. As for the site map stay away. Mine is not going to have adverts on it and if you going to add adsense they all can be linked unless you get 500 different adsense accounts
