How much can I make if I sell my website?

I have a site which has 1500 unique visits per day. 80% of this traffic is from India. I dont make much money and that is why I want to sell it.

It is a wallpaper website.

How much money can i expect to make if I flip the website?

P.S - It has 650 feedburner email subscribers and it grows at a rate of 5 new subscribers a day.

P.P.S - I make 6$ a month I know that isnt much. But if I put in some more effort I can increase the traffic from 1500 to 10,000 unique visitors per day.

I made the site when I was newb starting out and thought if I could some how get traffic, I will also be able to make a ton of money. I ended up getting the traffic parted sorted out when I realized that ad sense wont accept me because of the lack of text content.

That was my lesson on how value equals money and it was also my lesson on how to get high traffic.

To make some money out of the traffic, I put in ad fly ads. It averages around .2 dollars a day. I forget about the site except for the 5$ bank transfers that happens every month to my account via paypal from ad.fly.

To make matters more crazy, I made a facebook page for my site just for the heck of it. I made it in mid april 2012 which is like only 3 months ago. I have 58,000 likes for the page as of now with 4 to 10 new likes for my page per day. These are real likes from real active users. They were not bought in anyway. There is a high level of user activity in the page and the page is maintained six fans who I promoted to the rank of page content creators, in the first week of creating the fan page.

My site has nearly 3000 pictures and I have not yet explored the traffic powers of pin interest

Is it possible for me to make some good money selling this website?

Does it make any money? Generally the only way to value a site with any accuracy is by using a multiple of it's average monthly profit. If you're not making any money from it it's value will be determined by the market on potential. If you want to risk the selling fee you can place it for sale and add a reserve that you'll be happy with and just see what happens. You can always lower your reserve as the auction progresses. Also you could do some research and see if you can find comparable site that sold.

If you use Flippa's search filters you can search for sites that make no money and look for some that get the traffic that you get. One thing's for sure, traffic and a mailing list is not worthless so you probably have some sort of value (above the domain name) in it. Providing (that is) that what you're doing is 100% legal.

I dont think I will be selling it, if it is going to cost me to put it on the market place. I mean I wont try to do that unless I am dead certain that there is money to be made. Thanks for the information though

The reason why I asked the question was because I found a site which was making 1$ a day which was being sold for over 1000$. It did not have half the traffic I have. I guess there is a lot to do on the value that the site has to offer and less on how much it makes at present. I guess there must be some other way to gauge the value.

There is a BIG difference between "being sold" and SOLD...

Selling website has a lot of variables such as traffic, location of traffic, page rank, revenue, niche e.t.c.

For the fact that you are selling it because you are not making money is a big MINUS, again there are lots of variables.

You made mention that your traffics are from India, this is another MINUS, generally speaking traffic from the developed world like U.S, Canada, Europe e.t.c is more valuable i believe you know why.

Right now the best bet is to look into your vicinity if you can't fling it elsewhere, your website can be more profitable to resident of Indian who can convert it to something meaningful for people of Indian.

Why not earning money from advertising? As there are good amount of visitors you can easily email to some relevant business owner to advertise their business to your website.

Too bad it is Indian traffic because they don't like to purchase things, and when they do, it's always a charge back.

How do you make only $6 per month? I make around $5 per 1000 visits through AdSense from a website in a niche with ad-blind visitors. Maybe, you need to do think about ad placements. Experiment with ads and see how it works. If you want to sell the site right now, you can expect a few hundred dollars for the traffic.

Because Ad Sense doesnt accept me. I have too little Text and too many pictures. Though the pictures have Alt text and everything, it is still not enough to get accepted to Google Ad Sense. It was my first attempt to make money online, so I was not as aware and educated as I am now

I don't think you should feel hopeless. fix it with the alternatives of Google Adsense first to have a stronger selling point.
